You always had Hayrow's number D'Harran they didn't score much on us ever - they had a fierce D though.

Vipermaw and Rhode Island gave you fits dinking and dunking the ball all over the place, we'd finish with more yards running and passing than them by an order of magnitude and still handily loose.

Alpine run by Cavalier - well I'm glad he's gone and hasn't come back

Pretty Close pass heavy: https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/80137

Morale Manipulator - if his guys scored first it turned into a blowout.

Plus looks like he quit the year of the power back which was a really frustrating one if you were a throwing team.

Yeah the all pass guys with the likes of Yuki Amagi noodle arm slinging it got followed by the all run guys. That's what actually had me throw in the towel, way back when - there is only so many times I could watch Strong I Pitch before getting bored of the same thing over and over again. Glad to see they got some balance in the game and while still "spammy" it doesn't look anywhere near that bad. Plus alot more tools now if you 100% know something is coming: Remember QB Strong Rollout? That was the absolute worst everyone on your defense running away from or directly into blockers of a mediocre fast QB who got to the edge often enough to make it worthwhile to spam it.

Or for the defensive middle overload as overwhelming powerful, 5 wide 3 receivers total uncovered and the QB is sitting there looking confused like don't worry about the blitz just flip it out there. Plus back then if you threw a screen in rookie or sophomore chances are the WR might fall over, I'd be constantly telling WR's to add balance just cause we had to have it - even still.

Man, the game sure has morphed over the years. I think it's finally in a good spot at the moment though. There's some rough edges here and there for sure, but not nearly as drastic as it was back then.

I can't plus one you; but yes from what I've seen the last err 20+ days watching and getting caught back up to speed I would say that's true. Also it's basically the first thing I asked Dredgar via chat a couple months ago when I was pondering coming back. Even the power running teams who seem to be in vet are induced to throwing 20 passes a game to keep people honest - it looks more like a real football game.

It's also a good job because you've got the never ending of problem of trying to please the football guys who happen to be playing a video game - and pleasing the video game guys who have chosen a football game. Sometimes those groups want the same thing - but they do generally pull you in different directions of what is exactly "a problem".

GLB, Civilization, and a baseball sim for a half minute are probably the only actual "video games" I've played in the last 5 years if you don't count holiday time with nieces and nephews who rope in their uncle so they can let me know if I buy them the game their cousin has I can play it at their house when I come visit them too.

FWIW I surveyed 5 or 6 others to varying degrees and didn't see a superior product out there including buying an ESPORTS league team and at the price point they were more "spammy" on plays than here; I will say if you ever decide to do GLB 3 the one complaint on all of them was the mechanics of the offensive line at least for the football purists probably an untapped market there if offensive lineman have to reach block or hand fight for leverage.

Would have been after I left. Happy and sad I missed it the Joe Gibbs 1983 team with the counter-trey is one of my favorite NFL teams of all term in terms of execution.

It's not that I don't think teams should have a strength - obviously they should - I just found 40 teams running the same thing every week rather boring especially if it tended to violate the 4th wall so to speak. What it shouldn't be - and apparently isn't anymore is all teams calling basically the same thing like All Dogs Go and the RT never even attempts a block on the CB but acts like the Maitre D at a high end restaurant "oh right this way sir enjoy some of our fine QB".

As for counters, draws, HB Screens, play action - those are all deception plays to some form. Harder to video game code realistically I'm certain. Gibbs Counter Trey was legendary, but it broke big huge gains because it was set up properly. They run slam right or stretch left you get tired of giving up 5 yards on first down you start to creep up and over react and then wham two pulling guards and a counter motion it's 30 yards down field. Same thing with Mike Holmgren and Andy Reid teams along with their coaching trees running variations of delayed screens - you are looking for a deep ball because down distance wise it makes sense and you've seen it already thrown, you get antsy you start to need to get to the QB , you stop watching the lineman all of a sudden there is a RB or WR with the ball 3 lead blockers and its a world of hurt because all your downline man believed the pass. Even for GLB argument sake the TE flag and post that Air Coryell lived on and revolutionized TE passing with wasn't just because Kellen Winslow was a SuperStar Hall of Famer - it was lethal because he'd run crossing routes underneath over and over with WR's you get sick of giving up 7 yard crossing routes on 1st down, the free safety creeps down then all of a sudden you've got Kellen Winslow 40 yards downfield and one on one with a LB whose an order of magnitude slower than he is and you are hosed.

Do I really have to send the notice - won't you just be able to see that you lost by 50 in the recap?

See that’s who I remember with the original air raid offense and he would demoralized a team

We came up with Air Raid and split vet ladder, they only had 1 run too though I believe
