Lolol my university's rentacops gave me a parking ticket for parking in a snow-covered (meaning I could not see if there were or were not line) spot that someone else (who didnt seem to have a ticket) pulled out of, and the time on the ticket is 1 minute BEFORE I texted someone that I got a spot in the closest lot to the shuttle. So they waited for me to pull into the spot, didn't say anything, didn't flag me down, didn't mark the spot at the end of the row against 2 fences (not in a roadway or obstructing anything), then immediately ran over to ticket me.

Ohhh Im going to have fun with this.

Turns out it's not even a legally binding ticket. I have zero obligation to pay it, and literally the only thing they can do it turn it over to a collection agency if I tell them no. In addition, there's supposed to be parking attendants in the lot directing overflow traffic, and I have not seen a single one outside extraordinarily snowy days in my 4 years there. So someone was supposed to be directing traffic instead of hiding and baiting people for tickets, and if they were doing their job, I would have avoided the ticket in the first place.

I see this now. I was more flustered when I thought it was a real thing. Now that I see it's the monopoly money of parking tickets and even then it wasn't properly issued, it's kinda funny

They will probably not let you graduate or something if you don't pay it.

Or not allow you to register for classes, or withhold your transcripts...

they have ways of making you comply.

If I flat out refused yeah they'd probably do something like that. Im going to go through the full appeal process just because I have a pretty well impregnable case. If they still try to make me pay or hold it up I'll go from there, but Im not thinking it'll be an issue.

Yeah, they just added it onto my tuition when I had them.

I vaguely remember having to pay some silly $4 charge before my diploma would be issued.

Which, by the way, if any of you are just BEGGING for something to get pissed about, it ought to be that. You've spent $50,000 or more (or someone did on your behalf) for an education and some Nazi is going to hold up your document proving you passed it because they in their sole discretion have decreed that you owe them more money.

Just watched "Old Fashioned". Literally bad on the level of "The Room". One of those Billy Madison I am now dumber for having watched it moments.

Anyone here have experience selling insurance? (Like a Life Insurance Agent?)

Neither my wife or I need another job, but I started thinking...

Is this a job that can be done part-time? Is it necessary to have a public office? Can this be a business run from home?

I ask because it doesn't seem like it involves much effort. And, who knows where the future leads. My wife may one day want to work from home.

Overheard on the news this morning:

"Police investigating a shooting. Now no one was actually shot, one person was sent to the hospital"

Wat?

selling insurance should not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of working part-time or from home.

Sure it wasn't "fatally shot" instead of actually?

Also, injuries can happen without getting shot.
