All you're doing by making EQ cheaper is making money pointless because it's so easy to come by. Might as well make the upgrades free, which is what we've done in both the ideas we've had. I'd like to have a system that makes money actually meaningful.

The only real issue with that money is, competitive teams were forced to switch there gear every season to keep up with the sim changes. We spend more money each year adapting to the sim, then we ever spent on that 1st set of gear.

Once the sim gets stable that problem will cure itself.

It isn't irrelevant. I'm glad you are finally seeing that the financial system is broke but the solution has been simple and out there for a long time but ignored. When it finally is addressed it exemplifies every negative part of the game that causes people to leave the game . I don't care about money being relevant, if I did then I'd be playing an accounting MMO not a football MMO.

Oh, you could make expected salaries based on fame as well...that way, the longer a player "sits on top", the harder he will be to keep on top with salary.

i'm sorry if this was covered but i didn't see it in the thread anyway:

if i put together a team of level 1 players with agents that are all friends and want to always stay on the same team, will we eventually have to deal with the problem of not being able to sign everyone b/c we have too many skill pts/effective level etc? i would be really upset if i went through 10-11 seasons w/ the same agents and players and i was over the salary cap through building my players well. it's like a restriction to how good you can build your team

Good idea, the last thing we need is for good players to be in good leagues.

Restrict super mergers? mmmm? That is a tough call. Kinda hurts groups of friends that enjoy playing together. Not sure what the answer is here. Would need to think about this more.

As far as cash farms, Just do away with cash trades. and again go back to creating a players necessity for his salary. Maybe not do away with the EQ fund, but like it is proposed limit each player to two sets of EQ. Not sure how that will effect AEQ, but I am sure it wouldn't be that hard to limit it to two sets of basic EQ and have a slot for AEQ, with only the AEQ being able to sell back. Also institute an income tax from ticket sales, and consessions every offseason from the previous season for every team.

Phantom makes alot of good points.

interesting thought and a possible use for fame.

fame would probably need to be more independent of league though....isn't it tied to leagues right now, so keeping a dot at AA until they go to the WL will keep the fame number artificially low?

They're already talking about potential changes

But under this proposed system, you'd still be able to keep a team together as long as you keep every signed the whole time. If you lost some agents, you'd have to find replacements though, which is where I forsee teams having problems if salary is based on effective SP.

Catch responded a while back that the cap as proposed in this thread only applies to new signings. Players can be re-negotiated without any impact from the cap.

Yeah, and people will have even less incentive to apply equipment in the earlier stages of there career. Well I could think of 5000 ways to screw with this. heck no
