It started with "Salutations". Picturing my dad saying salutations with a completely straight face has to be one of the weirdest things ever.

Get used to more dumb shit as you get older. You'll hit the sweetspot in age where you've got a ton of people leasing/financing cars they can't afford and taking vacations they 'deserve'. Bunch making other dumb decisions even after they figure out they can't do anything with their art history degree.

It also becomes an early talking point when dating. When you figure out their student loans/credit card debt you need to run.

Romowoman 1.0 ended for a multitude of reasons, but one was that she felt entitled to have all these things, despite the fact that she made $11/hour with a college degree. Our incomes were lopsided, which didn't bug me. I was/am making plenty to live comfortable. What did bug me was that her expenses were lopsided to mine. She had more expenses by far. She needed to lease a new SUV (w/ Mom's help to back her), take vacations to Florida/the Bahamas, and buy just about new everything. You just can't do that on $11/hour. But she had a level of entitlement because she was working 50 hours/week.

Romowoman 2.0 hasn't happened just yet, but current relationship might get there. She's an RN so at least she makes enough money to support her habits. And she's been moldable enough that she started saving for a house downpayment (frankly I could buy the house right now, but have rented since I moved out here and feel good where we're at. She'll earn it and feel the reward of process.)
