By the way, professionalism wouldn't involve sending her a nasty Email. If you've already requested material that adheres to the agreed standards then your next step would be to request help from a station manager.

Her manager has been consulted about the issue no short of 5 or 6 times in the last couple of months alone. He's claimed to have multiple talks with her.

It's incredible because the weather guys have never missed once. In fact, there's been plenty of occasions where they actually send us extras.

On another thread a while back, I mentioned that a local FOX affiliate sends us news cuts that I edit 4 days a week. (Supposed to, at least.) I have to do news alone on Monday mornings because they don't work Sunday nights. However, this anchor that's responsible is awful, doesn't adhere to our guidelines, and slacks so much that she doesn't even do it half the time.

Well, it's become over half now. She sent me a cut only one day last week and it was barely airable. (content, slurs, poor annunciation, reading too quickly, etc) She's yet to send anything this week. I told my boss that I'm about to send her a nasty email, but he said not to bother because we probably won't be keeping them around much longer.

I don't know how this bitch ever became a news anchor. She's terrible and completely lacks any professionalism.

What's her name?

even still, from a professionalism standpoint, it's his place to send nasty emails, not yours. all you should do is let her manager know that this is adding to the reasons why you might not stay with them

Oh, I know. I was really just voicing my frustration here. To be honest, from a professionalism stand-point, I shouldn't be on here talking about work at all.

The difference is, in this case, I'm only stepping on my own toes. I'm not tying someone's hands behind their back and making it much more difficult for them to do their job.

Indian developers will be the death of me.

The agency I work for uses them for anything closer to the basic side of the spectrum, because they're $20/hour. You just can't beat them on price. Unfortunately, things rarely go smoothly. Tonight, basically we had to get a website that was approved on Friday moved over to the company's domain by Monday morning. Everything is a rats nest in terms of domain and hosting locations with the company, so I'm working with the Indian developer to get everything sorted out.

Basically they're triple-paying for hosting across multiple hosts, and there are situations where a website is hosted in one location and a subdomain of that very same domain is hosted in a completely different location. Oh and I spent 45 minutes on Friday on the phone dealing with a site that they own that's hosted on their own servers to add redirects to it. I basically had to visualize their server from my mind as someone from their office walked me through what was in front of them.

The good news is this is the only work I need to get done today outside of a meeting 5 hours from now.

Oh, guess who sent news this morning!

3 stories.

One was a brutal rape and attempted murder story. Scratched that.

One was a drug bust. The story was fine, but she slurred and used the wrong inflection over and over. I still would have used it if she had other valid content.

The last story was about the bowl victory on Saturday. We already ran a story about it on Monday. We're 3 days removed, why are we still talking about it?

Have to scrap the whole thing and write my own again.

It's a shrinking medium, which means you're likely engaged with a cheap freelancer. They are a dime a dozen in that industry.

She's the news anchor for a nightly newscast which (at least at one point, not sure if they do this very moment) syndicates from 2 of the state's biggest cities.

That's why it's so baffling.
