Slow Built gives a great first impression, but long term it becomes impossible to achieve all those caps you spent the trait for.

A WR benefits a lot from high Confidence, so much he can neglect Strength mostly and achieve great caps on Catch in Traffic.

True, but Rec Grip is still an issue with low Str and CiT isn't as dominant with the new changes.

I respecc'd Belgarion from 66 CiT to 49 to start the season so I could go 65 Quick and 69 Sprinting. I'm rebuilding CiT but you have to get open - though it doesn't seem you need yards of separation; but you do need some.

Oh and SA Slot Machine has a role now. My Third Down plays are being dominated by my WR3.

My possession WR: Strength 2, Stamina 3, Confidence 10 with Slot Receiver + Soft Hands has a 52 cap on Receiving Grip, wouldn't you consider that fine?

This isn't GLB1, you don't have to work towards caps. You can't make every position a Slow Built guy, but you can benefit greatly by being creative. DD is running 3 Slow Built WRs that have performed amazingly. Even without a heavy SS lineup that other teams have, we still have won 3 league championships and finished 2nd in the ladder 4 seasons in a row. You guys keep saying it's not viable, but haven't had close to the amount of success this team has put together. At the end of the day, results matter.

We'll see how ya'll end up on the ladder this season. I'm gonna guess good coordinating has gotten DD 2.0 more wins than slow built players.

I mean, lets boil down the argument for slow built:

"I think there's a number of useless secondary skills, therefore I skimp on them significantly to pump a few primaries"

I disagree with this thinking myself.

They just need to remove the cost penalty.

The fact cap boosts are in the game will make people think twice about using slow built. But, at least they will THINK. The loss of a positive discount is nasty enough.

I was referring to DD, I don't think we have any Slow Built guys on DD 2.0.

If you remove the costs penalty then there is no reason to take it at nearly every position.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/139714 I got an acceptable cap and build plan on this guy. Too bad his salary is through the roof for a Non S*

We're talking about build efficiency here, not achievements. What I'm saying is that you can achieve optimal caps on a WR without Slow Built. When I started I thought it was impossible to create a good WR without Slow Built, my first one has it and he is pretty good, but I proved in a different thread that I could achieve his same caps and improve the SP distribution with better player building.

Shifty + Egotist + Workhrse is my favorite WR build, but I'm yet to find its best distribution.

I feel kinda bad that I'm not gonna use him, unless my season 10 team can't find that 4th WR.

No, that's not what people have said. The argument is more 'you can do better without Slow Built'. That doesn't mean a player with slowbuilt won't perform. We're talking small differences here.
