Called in a domestic violence the other day. Was less than 1 minute away from the police station. Took two phone calls over the span of 20 minutes for the cops to show up. Once they arrived they sat in their cruisers for 5 minutes to make sure the guy got it out of his system before they approached him.

The cops in my town are glorified meter maids. I've talked to a few of my old friends that were cops here (who have all quit) and they all said the same thing. There is a huge list of people on the "do not arrest list" and they got tired of trying to guess who they could and couldn't arrest. If they arrest the wrong person they get an ass chewing and will be passed over. That's why so many cops here won't arrest anyone for anything and actually get pissed off at complainants rather than criminals.

Those are the obvious ones that are pretty much in any area. Here it's a pretty extensive list that includes drinking buddies, meth cooks, golf buddies, the mayor's cousin 3x removed, a store clerk that smiled at the chief one time, ect... It's pretty fucking stupid.
