Tried to give Freight Train SA receivers a spin... Thought the energy loss would have been more noticeable over the course of games. Sadly, that is just not the case as energy is restored at such a high rate it seems.

I always try to throw in some twists on BSB runs for sure though.

We are also running a hybrid defense and fairly versatile offense/defense with a wide array of plays in both. We obviously lean a bit more on some plays than others, but with so many plays, I would say it has differed a fair amount over the course of the season.

Anyway, different people continue to play for different reasons. Still probably a few player build wrinkles and things left to be found/tested for each of us I suppose.

The problem is that at those lower tiers you don't really see what your builds can do because the game is much more random, its only by Pro/Vet do you know their potential.

At least it’s not as bad as original rookie with everyone crawling around, rookie is technically sophomore now

Yep. Just imagine how much better rookie would be if they would drop J-Man like I've been asking for years.

Probably in favor of taking out another tier but I doubt it happens.

I might be in the minority but I enjoy the building process - I end up fucking up some of my planned builds, but adjusting to the sim is something that has been necessary in the past. I think if they were to drop another tier I’d rather the SP be spread out accordingly instead of just being given that lump sum at creation.

Agreed. I have always enjoyed the building process and even find vet ball somewhat boring as I really enjoy player development. Seeing current weaknesses and being able to work on correcting them is nice.

Have always wished that we had something for additional growth or tweak up at Vet. Randomized choices for next game equipment (a spin on glb1 mechanic here) would be fun. Two random equipments drop per player after a game and the agent can choose which one may help them more for the next game - rinse and repeat.

A jock strap that gives +10 to toughness feels necessary here!

I think one more tier combined into Rookie would be perfect, you'd still get to build your players, you wouldn't suffer through the agony of playing J-Man that gets wrecked by all the higher tier teams in ladder, Pro wouldn't be so lean, you'd get one more season at Vet, you'd have 2 tiers that are protected in ladder, and teams that want to rebuild would have an easier time doing so.

VET's depressing enough as constructed even when it did have far more teams playing different styles.

With full boost you can now spend more time in VET than you do up the ladder already. 6 VET seasons with 3 seasons of adding regular points to your players seems like adding more to an already medicore idea built on a flawed premise - VET's fine for people who do they gameplanning like you and me. If your GLB time commitment ends there - well its pretty repetative.

Plus why worry about the J-MAN ladder goofyness in particular? If you lose well you were supposed to anyway. If you beat a Pro or a VET team that's a feather in your cap. Pretty much free scouting for a future match. I say that always having thought the ladder was a questionable idea to begin with, obviously deisgned for a bigger game in terms of teams - but quite frankly it's too many ladder games anyway. 16 Ladder games, really you could accomplish the same objective (who is #1 across all tiers) with 8 if you just hold back the ladder games until after the 5th or 6th league game run the league games every other day at the start, you'd shave 10-15 days off the season. Which would have been a big boon for teams that are not having success that season since they suffer a shorter period.

I agree with getting rid of Journeyman. Also agree with Boss that the SPs should be spread out between tiers.

I agree with the building is a lot of fun for me. If you remove another tier it’s really destroying the fun for me. As frustrating as rookie can be if you were to take out the player development I would probably bail on the game and just go play other sports sims like hockey manager or OOTP. Games where it’s all end builds with minor development.

That’s the whole point, you’re watching your players progress, otherwise why even have a tiered build system and just have a sim where you literally have no reason to stick around after the hardcores take it over. Random to an extent is what makes the games interesting instead of you just cashing in on metas and destroying anyone new who wants to play

Personally, I'd rather be violated by an Elephant than watch what you guys have been doing in Vet since I left this game, serioulsy how many times can you guys run the exact same play over and over again and pat yourself on the back for it?

Said it a bunch of times - not your guy's fault at all - just game creators/moderators - but personally I prefer a bunch of different teams with different playing styles, strengths and weaknesses they have character. Olympus totally interesting to me doing something new...watching the same guys blast the same meta and run the same plays over and over - violently depressing - like watching adults play tic-tac-toe I mean once you've figured optimum the game always ends the same way no matter who starts first.

When you've been here 50 seasons you're bound to have exhausted just about every scheme possible. What's Olympus doing different?
