Give money a bigger purpose, restrict super mergers, get rid of cash farms.

r87 made an excellent suggestion that was lost when some misguided mod deleted my thread.

There should be a tax instead of a hard cap. Having a hard cap eliminates friends building a team together, which is the foundation of this game. The tax would provide a reasonable penalty for having a stacked team (which may mean lower morale/energy bonuses), but would still allow you to play with friends.

Yeah, I say just keep it...I mean how hard is it to see a button that says "fix stadium deterioration - 4,000,000" and that figure goes up each season if you dont pay for it eventually until it dissappears if you dont pay for it......

I'd be all for keeping deterioration.

Dear lord. If it is that easy, why have it? The more important question is why have it all? Realism? Please. How does it make the game more fun? More strategic? More fair?

What if the reserve worked this way.

The reserve is added to a low morale threshold - say something like 70 or 80. If you hit 70 or 80, then you would stay at that threshold until the reserve was depleted.

I can live with the original concept though too - especially with morale effects being doubled next off season, but just tossing that idea out there.

I don't know...seems kind of awkward.

I'd like to see some test games with MS/Mentor tbh, I thought of running one...but meh.

Decent, but I like the first proposal better with the additional half in S16 and getting rid of MS and Mentor

Seriously, I am trying to help you guys out by bumping this. This is a solid middle-ground, and will not make morale near useless at the high levels...give this a long hard look...

You'd really get rid of the perm bonuses? I can see getting rid of deterioration, but only having the temp bonuses means you have to worry about buying them constantly.

There would be seasonal bonuses as well, so not exactly the case. The problem with the perm bonuses is that you need to gimp on salary and seasonal/temp boosts to by them, and it also continues to make the rich become richer. By getting rid of the perm bonuses finances will not be much of a hassle, will still require some basic thought, and will basically reset after each season so everyone is on an equal ground.

Having the reserve chem works too though, but you absolutely need to make morale more pronounced, which the second half of the morale change will not do on its own, but getting rid of motivational speaker as well likely will. If you go that way though, make sure to test it because from seeing teams with and without motivational speaker, removing it will have a MUCH larger impact than the morale changes you made this season and will finish next season.

You have it so that you cant just eventually own EVERY perm bonus...at least not easily.

Makes team cash mean more than salary/equipment.

-1

The permanent bonuses are great. More options is always better than less. If a team wants to spend 100 mil on a maint building instead of adding 3 points of confidence, its good they have the option.

I like the original idea better myself tbh.

One of the big complaints that was mentioned over and over again in the other thread was the fear of needing to do manual accounting and excel spreadsheet work. I would like to suggest that the interface have some sort of budgeting feature that makes it easier for the average owner to plan out his expenses.

Wasn't money supposed to have a smaller purpose to increase parity?
Super mergers only really apply to the pro leagues / world league, so why is the rest of the game being changed for that? Surely it can be handled on a case-by-case basis since there are so few cases.
Didn't the new rules that were implemented eliminate cash farms?

This doesn't sound fun. Adding that bank just makes it more fun doesn't it? Seeing our dots function at 100% is what drives the addiction in a game like this.

A player is really excited about playing today, he has super high morale, even when X Y Z go wrong he still plays at 100 morale because he was so fired up to play today.

B player is really excited about playing today, he has super high morale, X y Z went wrong he dropped down to 80 morale, and maintained it through fumbles 4 5 and 6.

Well that's good to hear, but the announcement says that you can't sign anyone once you hit the cap
