A) Did anyone say it was an ass whipping?

B) Given the fact that our measly little team with the former scrub ass coach managed to beat your team full of All World Blue Chips then it may be considered as such.

C) Heard the last line from y'all the last two years. How's that worked out?

A. Actually yes they did.... when you click that link look at the titel of the video.

B. Wrong

C. Worked out OK for texas overall. Top 10 ranking, Bowl Win, etc etc... how did the last 2 years work out for aggy again? Dont get me wrong, I hate losing to scrub teams, but overall our season was lightyears better than aggy's the last 2 years.

A: The score doesn't always represent the game. Are you going to sit there say it wasn't a whipping? The game stats were pretty one sided despite the 2 late scores against the Ags' prevent D.

B: I've heard the recruiting ranking argument before but have you actually looked at which of the high level recruits Fran pulled made it on campus and then stayed. The attrition under Fran was incredible.

C: Which is why Fran is doing studio work instead of coaching the Aggies. Just beating tu isn't enough if second rate coaches like Prince and Fran can do it.

A: Yes I am going to say those werent whoopings. #1 the 06 game was marred by some horrid officiating- ie: phantom PI call on Sweed in the endzone. #2. Last year aggy came out swinging and scrapped everything they had been doing all year, and still held on by the skin of their teeth. Texas scored with about 3 minutes in the game, and no scoring drive had taken that long for Texas all game long. So there was a very real chance of them scoring again... and if a team has that chance then it is not a whooping at all. I give a&m credit for last years game. They played lights out, but think about it. The last 2 that you guys won, you won by an average of like 6.5 points each. The previous 6 or so, Texas was winning those by an average of about 20..... THOSE games were whoopings.

B: I will give you some credit here. Fran did have a TON of attrition on his team. He had some good players lined up too, but if you can't keep them, you can't use them. He didnt exactly have stellar classes once you factor in everyone that left or decommitted.

C; Obviously.... only helped get fran a super extention after getting brained in a bowl game... and remind me again how K-State and aggys seasons ended last year.. what were the rankings again?

Look, I don't think any A&M grad is going to make any claim that our program is "better" than yours at the moment.

But we do have two years of scoreboard regardless of how many phantom calls or stellar 4th Quarter drives tu had in either game.

Do I think that Sherman is the next Pete Carroll? That would be a gigantic stretch. But I do think he's going to be better than a lot of you are currently giving him any credit for. There's a huge wealth of very solid football knowledge in this coaching staff, especially on the offensive side. When you've got a QB coach who has NFL offensive coordinating and college head coaching experience that says something to me. I'm very interested to see what Cromwell, Rossley, and Sherman's offense looks like. Are we going to be world beaters this year? Quite likely we will not be. But will we play smarter football and be a LOT better at the fundamentals? I really believe these coaches are going to have these guys playing to the top of their potential and that's all I can ask for at the moment, given the last 5 years.

As for the offensive line, we have some serious work to do to catch up with what Fran left us at that position. He really screwed us over there the last 2 years. But I've been to A&M's football camps in high school when Sherman was at A&M and I know for a fact that this man will get every ounce of talent he can out of what we have on the OL. I was there for 4 days and I was ready to go to battle for that man..... he's a tremendous motivator and OL coach. My brother went to his camps in HS as well and ended up playing offensive tackle at Baylor. He shared the same assessment as I did about Sherman and we both thought he was the best offensive line coach we were ever around.

I dont think it is as much in Texas fans not giving Sherman any credit. I think there are just a lot of aggs that want to give him way too much and way to fast. At this stage in their Div I head coaching careers, Fran is a better coach at this level. He has had some success, whereas Sherman has no success at all as a head coach at thsi level. I see a lot of aggys getting bent out of shape when they are told that Fran is a better coach to date in college than Sherman is, and for no real reason. It is true. That doesnt mean that he wont do better than fran, doesnt say he will do better either... but thats just it. Sherman has no previous head coaching experience at this level. And regardless of what he did in Green Bay, you can't count that toward this situation. The pro game and the college game do not overlap very well for coaches, and we have seen many, many ppl try to make the jump..... Callahan, Spurrier, etc etc..

Well, bottom line is it won't take a whole lot to be better than Fran.

#1 thing is Sherman doesn't have the arrogant yankee attitude that Fran did and Sherman will get in the living room of a lot more recruits and high school football coaches offices than Fran.

You wouldn't make a very good mutual fund salesman. . . . . past performances do not indicate future success

A: We'll have to agree to disagree here. Just because the horns are used to getting the benefit of every call doesn't mean that when one finally goes against them, it's a phantom call. The PI in 06 was very real as can be seen in numerous gifs easily available on the internet. I wasn't talking about 06 though. Are you seriously saying that no horn drive had taken that long all game long? When I look at last years game I see punt-punt-punt-punt-FG-INT-TD-Fumble-TD-Punt-Fumble-TD-TD. Looks to me like that in all but 3 of those drives you had a lot of trouble scoring. That, along with the time of possession, the 200 more yards of total offense and the 9 more first downs, to me equals a whipping. Perhaps a minor whipping, but a whipping just the same. If you want to talk about phantom calls, by the way, let's discuss the PR fumble in 2005 that sealed the game for you at Kyle and that our returner had in his arms after the play.

B: That's my point. A&M won with teams that were no where near the talent level of the tu teams they faced.

C: Just pointing out even though Fran was beating Mac regularly, he still got fired because beating tu is not enough. As for how our season ended, well obviously not very well which is why Fran is gone. The only consolation we had was costing Vince the heisman and keeping tu out of the Big 12 championship game the last two years. That's a poor return on 2 million dollars a year.

Aggy didn't cost VY the Heisman...ESPN did. They ran a nonstop Reggie Bush is the best player ever campaign for the entire CFB season. Do you not remember USC being the greatest team ever? It was shoved down everyones throat the entire season.

The consecutive wins was going to happen eventually. Texas had won what, 6 straight before that? I'm just glad the Texas program isn't so bad that the only thing to cheer for is a win over an instate school.

Aggy has cemented itself as the 4th best school in the Big XII south and with the resources they have that's pathetic. Even an aggy fan can't argue that.

Espn was able to do that because of this stat line... against a 2 TD underdog at kyle field.

Vince Young 13/24 162 6.8 1 1
Vince Young 11 19 1.7 0 12

A game in which he was outplayed by a true freshman.

Not arguing where we are by the way. No Aggie is happy with the last several years.... despite the victories over tu. We need to see more and hopefully Sherman will do that.

If VY ran for 500 and threw for 500 against aggy he wasn't getting the heisman. ESPN had it locked up for Bush. You can tell who is going to win it every season if you watch for the player they eventually rep.

Aggy's hate VY because he accomplished something you will never see as an aggy fan. The crystal trophy sitting in Austin. You goobers actually wanted USC to win which shows your jealousy and hatred for big brother. If aggy was in the national championship game the majority of us would cheer for you guys to win because you're from Texas.

Anyway, this is pointless. If you want to throw down some scratch on the game you know where to find me.

Wtf, excuse for what?

These games mean nothing. We finished undefeated last season and got nothing for it. When the playoffs start the guys will go back to game planning heavy. We've been on cruise control for two weeks and beat the team that beat you.
