OK I was in the Army. Served two tours in Iraq. I have a Purple Heart from my truck getting blown up by an IED(Roadside Bomb). I agree with two points.
1: Too many people believe that the war is wrong, but do you remember 9/11? Saddam may not have been physically part of it, but I am positive he helped fund it. The guy killed thousands of his own people because they wanted him out of power and went to the US for help. He used nerve gas on a town just to test it. He was a terrorist just as much as Bin Laden. Do I think we still need to be there? Yes. Do I think as many of us needs to be there? No. Do I think we did good in going over there? Yes I do. I believe it with all that I am worth. I'd rather fight them over there than over here in our streets.
2: There were ulterior motives for the war, no one can deny that and still be telling the truth. They said it was due to Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical weapons of Mass Destruction. I can say that both times I was there, I didn't see any evidence supporting that. But I wasn't EVERYWHERE in Iraq, so I can't say there wasn't anything found.
With all that said, PLEASE for all of those who have served, and are still serving, do not turn this into a heated arguement over a soldier. Who can honestly say he doesn't have a brother serving over there? No one but him.
That is all I am going to say on this subject.
I agree 100% with everything contained here, and I do think that questioning whether he has a brother that served in Iraq may be a bit disrespectful.
I also think that it in NO WAY has any bearing on how we should allow him to play the game. If is brother left for summer camp or boot camp makes no difference to me if you take his team and use it to cheat in the game. Even mentioning that your brother is serving in Iraq makes it seem like you are USING his situation to gain sympathy on an online game. That, my friend, is disrespectful to what he is doing.
I for one have gained a lot of respect for you JAY25M2396. Not only for my agreement with what you have posted here but with the way you have handled the other thread you had started. We realize that it was started without knowledge of the rest of the league's thoughts on what has gone down with Phuket and I personally appreciate the manner in which you diffused the problems.
