What the hell. What happened to all the players who took the minimum salary, and equipment bonuses when needed? My first players first owner basically taught me everything I know about the game, and that was one thing that every player on his teams believed in. Help the owner build the stadium, and the money would always be there for equipment. We all played on hard, never trained intense, and always were back at at least 95 energy for games.

Where did all these players go? I knew a ton of people that did things this way.

They are all already on teams.

All the owners have to stand together and not pay them. Make there players be free agents for each season until they lower their demands.

Man, I am glad to read this. This was my first season at recruiting and I thought it was a freaking nightmare.

There are still a lot of players out there that are holding out. I don't know for what but they refuse to commit.

There were level 20 CBs that I heard about from other boards that wouldn't sign without a $1 mill - yes $1 mill - signing bonus.

And landing CBs has become the single most difficult thing to do. So if you have some good ones - KEEP them.

That's what we are trying to do with my team. Very nice having players that understand this. Also easy as an owner to be looking at giving a new deal to guys, and knowing they won't break the house.

Yeah I don't get it. Money is worthless for players besides equipment. I mean, if you get one of the trophies now that's something.

Well Bort did say about putting in more stuff that requires money soon, probably next offseason.

When your team gets a lot of level 24s, money can be tough to come by. The thing is people get 150 offers and they don't know what to do so they just look at the dollar signs because they don't have time to look at each team case by case. The problem is they wind up burning themselves. Of course then you just have those jerks that look at a big contract as a status.

Ok I get that people use money to figure out who to pick. However, when I read an ad that says: "Want 3200 salary, 100,000 bonus, help with level 24 Equipment and I only want a day 40 contract." I'm like WTF?! Why would I want to invest all that into you and get ONE year out of you? Idiots.

I'f youre a good contender to get the trophee then yeah maybe you would pay that much to get a key position where you've got crappy coverage, then you might look into getting that position filled with a higher lvl guy.
Obviously this is gonna cost you in the long run, but in a short season youre pretty sure to get some of your worth back from this guy...

- Personally i completely agree with you FredL, but I can see some people and some Owner/GM's feeling like this, everyone wants to win the big bowl.
k.

I'm a one year rent a player. My old team thought I'd be taking my two players as free agents at the end of the season so decided to trade me while he could get something. The funny thing is he was wrong. Anyway, I'm a level 25, but I made it very clear to the owner that I needed $150,000 for my equipment which would be used to help the team, but that I wouldn't expect him to pay all of it since I'd only be here one year. The result was we agreed on a $40K bonus. I'll make enough money for the other 2 pieces during the season.

I wonder if they are using the money issue as a screen for "I want to be on a #1 Team" without saying so. Only those really good teams will have the money to pay for them, so by asking for Dr. Evil money, they ensure that they end up on the good team without the stigma of being a band wagoner.
