Being better on paper doesn't mean all that much against quality opponents. I think the Idols vs. Flash redux, if it happens, is too close to call right now. But even going there is disrespectful of the rest of the playoff field. I think it's safe to say that everyone has gotten better for the playoffs, and rest assured, we are not looking past the Pirate Hookers. As for the Idols, we'll cross that bridge if and when we get there.

Good points for sure. So which teams does everyone think could surprise everyone and win it all? By surprises I'm talking three seeds and lower. In ALPHA, I think 3-5 really could beat anyone all the way through, and I'm not throwing Mekong out either, despite their owners insistance that they won't win. The Firestorm are very tough and are a legit contender, as is Oklahoma.

I agree that it's going to be a close game, and that the Fisherman have a real shot. That being said, I do love me some trash talk from the (very good) kicker. . .thinking of changing his name to Vanderjagt?

i'm not just the kicker i am the gm

I know, but it was more amusing to me to refer to you as the kicker. . .just thinking about Vanderjagt's trash talking makes me laugh.

I thank you Winona for the respect but i think that you know deep down i have a zero shot(WINK)of winning.According to Triceritops i think it wouldve been better to stay out of the playoffs.HA HA, they really get me going but I have to learn to consider the audience. Good luck everybody! I'm actually excited i may not be able to sleep

I like your enthusiasm.

well we will see if i am a vanderdouche or a vineteri. if i miss the big kicks then i will welcome the vanderdouche comment. other than that screw the colts and the manning they ride in on.

I think Oklahoma Steelers at Winona Warriors is going to be one of the best games in the first round. They beat us 30-17 but we have boosted all of our players now so we will have a better chance now. We had 5 turnovers last game that accounted for 13 points. I do not think that will happen this time. I predict 21-20 final score. Good luck to everyone. If we win watch out Idols you might be surprized.

It was a good game for sure. I was worried about this one for sure, and you guys got us. Looks like you won the turnover battle this time around and it bit us for sure. Good luck in round two guys!

Good game, Fisherman. You definitely played us tight, and made me nervous at many points in the game. And big poppa, you were definitely more vinateri than vanderjagt.

Gotta give props to Macau. Even though we were up 17 at halftime, they kept coming and made a game of it down the stretch. IMO, any of the four teams left can win Alpha, so it's going to be an interesting next 2 games for whomever can pull through.

So far the only thing that could be considered a suprise would be the Okalahoma Steelers knocking off Winona in a good game...

The next round is where it gets interesting.

Stucknuts, we were able to secure you seating at our next game against the Queensland Flash.

Your request to be near the Honey Buckets, Bud Light Beer Stand, and hop scotch gaming zone were accomodated! =)

I'm excited about playing Queensland again, should be a fun game...at least I hope we keep it close. Since the Triceratops will be there with their saddles all shined up I'd hate for it to be a boring game. =)

Best of luck.

Yeah, and that was a mild surprise if at all. Oky is a really good team and very even with us. I'm not surprised at that outcome at all. They deserved it after Rick Blaine's 3 picks.
