BETA GAME DAY - WEEK 4
Live from Villa Rustica: Rome Gladiator Yaks vs. Turf Warriors

Opening Segment

Buford T. Justice: "Attention all units! Attention all football fans! This is Sheriff Buford T. Justice coming to you live from Villa Rustica, and I'm still in hot pursuit of that no-good Bandit. Forty-nine states, three transmissions, fourteen speeding tickets, and one incompetent son later, I still ain't caught him. My boy Junior couldn't track a bloodhound through wet cement. Every time I ask him to locate the Bandit, he brings me a corn dog and a road map!"

"Now today we're lookin' at the Rome Gladiator Yaks and the Turf Warriors. One team's runnin' like they stole something, the other's wearin' enough armor to invade Gaul. Somewhere out there the Bandit's probably got tickets to this game. That sumbitch..."

Voice from the Booth: "Buford, FCC regulations. Language."

Buford: "What? Fine. That sungun Bandit. Happy now?"

George Costanza: "Can we discuss how insane all of this is? Nobody's talking about the important things. What if Rome loses? What if Turf wins? What if both coaches accidentally call the same play? What if there's a bee on the sideline? You don't know! Nobody ever knows!"

"I look at these stats and panic. Rome's 2-1. Turf's 2-1. Both in Beta Conference. They're practically the same team, except one likes passing and one likes running. This is exactly how disasters happen. Similar teams. Equal confidence. That's how civilizations collapse."

Michael Jackson: "Hee-hee..." "Thank you for having me. It's... it's such an honor. I love football. It reminds me of the children. The teamwork... the innocence... the magic."

George: "The children?"

Michael: "Yes. It's all about believing. Just like in Man in the Mirror. Sometimes a team has to look at itself and make a change."

Buford: "I don't know what happened, son, but I remember you back in the seventies. You was about this tall and black."

George: "I remember Thriller Michael. Every year you looked different. It was like opening a mystery box."

Michael: "Shamone..." "It's all part of the journey."

Buford (whispering): "Junior once came home lookin' different too. Turns out he'd been wearin' my wife's glasses."

George's Panic Meter

George: "You know what worries me? Rome's offense. They throw a lot. They score enough. But where's the running game? You're called the Yaks! Yaks run! That's the whole thing! It's right there in the branding!"

"And the Warriors? They haven't been sacked once. Not once! That's suspicious! Nobody goes three weeks without a sack. It's unnatural."

Michael's Analysis

Michael: "Ooooh..." "The Warriors are dangerous. They have rhythm. They have movement. They have balance." "When I see their rushing attack, I think of Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough. They just keep going." "And the Yaks... they keep believing. That's important. You have to keep the faith." "Hee-hee!"

Buford's Analysis: "Look here. I know pursuit. I spent most of my life pursuing the Bandit." "Turf Warriors got the better engine. Hundred and forty points scored compared to seventy-seven. That ain't a contest." "The Yaks may be first place, but they remind me of Junior trying to parallel park. Technically it gets done, but there's a lot of property damage along the way." "The Warriors are averaging almost twice the scoring output. If this game turns into a foot race, the Yaks are gonna need one mighty big convoy."

Host Personal Alignment Picks

Buford T. Justice: Team: Turf Warriors

"Those boys run the football, control the game, and don't waste time. That's law enforcement football right there. If Junior could rush like that, maybe we'd have caught the Bandit twenty years ago."

George Costanza: Team: Rome Gladiator Yaks

"Look at them. They're nervous. They're inconsistent. They don't run as well as they should. They somehow keep winning anyway. That's my kind of operation."

Michael Jackson

Team: Rome Gladiator Yaks

"Hee-hee!" "The Yaks bring joy. They're unique. They're different. They're supposed to be prey animals but don't know any better. You must be true to yourself. That's what I've always believed." "And their fans seem kind to the children."

Final Predictions

Michael Jackson: "Turf Warriors 20, Yaks 28. A beautiful game. Hee-hee."

George Costanza:"Yaks 27, Warriors 24. Why? Because when everyone expects one thing, the opposite happens. It's the Costanza Principle."

Buford T. Justice: "Warriors 31, Yaks 20. Mark it down. If I'm wrong, I'll let Junior drive the patrol car. On second thought, absolutely not."

Closing

Buford: "Well folks, kickoff's just around the corner. The Bandit's still out there, Junior's still useless, and somewhere that no good scofflaw is speeding through a county road with my tax dollars and a case of Coors Banquet.....that 'sumbitch"

George: "Everything's fine. Nothing's fine. We're all doomed."

Michael: "Shamone... hee-hee... keep the faith."

All Three: "Enjoy Week 4!"

And the rest....

Around the Week 4 Schedule: Panel Picks

Berlin Mustaches vs. Lone Star Renegades

Buford T. Justice: "A mustache is just facial hair, son. A renegade rides into town, steals your horse, kisses your wife, and leaves before breakfast. Renegades win this one."

Pick: Lone Star Renegades 63, Berlin Mustaches 10.

George Costanza: "Hold on. The mascot is... a mustache? Just a mustache? Is it attached to anybody? Can it defend itself? This is exactly the kind of oversight that destroys franchises."

Pick: Lone Star Renegades 49, Berlin Mustaches 14.

Michael Jackson: "Hee-hee..." "The renegade has freedom... movement... it's hard for a mustache to chase someone. Unless it's a magical mustache. But I don't think it is."

Pick: Lone Star Renegades 56, Berlin Mustaches 7.

Sin City Bulldogs vs. Hartford Bouncing Pickles

Buford T. Justice: "Now this one's tough. Bulldogs are mean. Pickles don't even belong on a football field. But these ain't ordinary pickles. They're bouncin'. A bulldog can't bite what it can't catch."

Pick: Hartford Bouncing Pickles 35, Sin City Bulldogs 31.

George Costanza: "I hate this matchup. Every instinct says bulldog. But every time I trust my instincts, disaster follows. The pickle bounces away, the bulldog gets frustrated, and next thing you know the pickle wins."

Pick: Hartford Bouncing Pickles 38, Sin City Bulldogs 34.

Michael Jackson: "Shamone..." "The pickle has joy. It keeps bouncing back. Bulldogs can be scary. That's inspiring to the children."

Pick: Hartford Bouncing Pickles 42, Sin City Bulldogs 35.

Blitzin' Dots vs. Buckhead Royal Knights

Buford T. Justice: "What in blue thunder is a Blitzin' Dot? Is it a speck? A freckle? A piece of lint? Junior once spent three hours chasin' a dot from a laser pointer, but even he couldn't arrest it. At least a Knight stands for Justice, just like yours truly."

Pick: Buckhead Royal Knights 27, Blitzin' Dots 21.

George Costanza: "The knights have armor, swords, horses. The Dot is a dot. This should be simple. Which means it'll be the complete opposite of simple."

Pick: Blitzin' Dots 24, Buckhead Royal Knights 20.

Michael Jackson: "Hee-hee..." "A knight can swing at a dot all day and never hit it. The dot just dances away... like moonwalking."

Pick: Blitzin' Dots 28, Buckhead Royal Knights 24.

Martian Invasion vs. Mr. Coach Kline's DOTS

Buford T. Justice: "Martians got spaceships, ray guns, and fancy gadgets. But Coach Kline's DOTS have already been whippin' folks like a state trooper handin' out speeding tickets. Sometimes discipline beats technology."

Pick: Mr. Coach Kline's DOTS 42, Martian Invasion 17.

George Costanza: "The Martians are from another planet. How do we know their football isn't better? Maybe they've already solved football! Nobody's asking these questions!"

Pick: Martian Invasion 35, Mr. Coach Kline's DOTS 21.

Michael Jackson: "Ooooh..." "The Martians are exciting... but the DOTS are very precise. Precision is important. Like choreography."

Pick: Mr. Coach Kline's DOTS 38, Martian Invasion 20.

Irridescent Ditch Fish vs. Broad Street Bullies

Buford T. Justice: "Now we're talkin'. A bunch of fish against a bunch of bullies. Usually I'd pick the bullies. But these fish have already proven they can survive in a ditch. That's a rough neighborhood right there."

Pick: Irridescent Ditch Fish 35, Broad Street Bullies 14.

George Costanza: "I was bullied! Nobody roots for the bullies! Besides, if the fish are iridescent, maybe the bullies get distracted by all the shiny colors. And I want to know, how do fish avoid shrinkage!"

Pick: Irridescent Ditch Fish 31, Broad Street Bullies 17.

Michael Jackson: "Hee-hee!" "The fish work together. The bullies want to push everybody around. Teamwork wins."

Pick: Irridescent Ditch Fish 28, Broad Street Bullies 13.

Buford's Closing Thought:

"Folks, if my picks are wrong, I'll personally deputize Junior to explain football analytics. That ought to scare every sumbi....'sungun watchin' at home."

George's Closing Thought:
"Why didn't we all agree on every game? That's suspicious. I don't like it. Something's wrong. Say Vanderliegh!"

Michael Jackson's Closing Thought:
"Hee-hee... keep the faith... and may the best mascot win."

🎙️ Week 5 Game Day Alpha

Game of the Week: Lone Star Renegades (3-1) vs. Sin City Bulldogs (4-0)

From Elves Stadium, where the Alpha Conference crown might be decided before the leaves even start falling with the highest-profile matchup of the season so far.

Opening

Foghorn Leghorn: "I say, I say, welcome everybody to Game Day America! We got ourselves a game hotter than a skillet full of bacon left out in a Georgia July. The Lone Star Renegades ride in with the league's highest scoring offense while the Sin City Bulldogs are unbeaten and ain't allowed a single point all season. Boy, that's rarer than a polite tax collector." Game of the week stats

Eric Cartman: "You guys, this is gonna be awesome! The Renegades score like a million points and the Bulldogs run over everyone! Best game ever!"

Foghorn: "Good enthusiasm there, son. Now let's try using actual numbers instead of 'a million.'"

Cartman: "Whatever, old man chicken."

Foghorn: "Boy, I'm not a chicken. I keep tellin' ya that and you keep proving my point."

Enter the Special Guest

Carrot Top: "Thanks guys! I brought some props for today's game."

(Holds up a giant cowboy hat.)

"This is the Renegades offense. Fast, flashy, and probably wanted in three states."

(Holds up a giant dog leash.)

"And this is the Bulldogs defense. They've kept every opponent on a leash all season. Zero points allowed! That's not a defense, that's a restraining order!" Game of the week stats

Breaking Down the Matchup

Lone Star Renegades

Foghorn: "The Renegades lead the conference in offense with 441 points. Montana Diggs has thrown 21 touchdowns without an interception and Julien Drake has already rushed for 436 yards and eleven scores. Son, this team attacks faster than free sweet tea at a church picnic." Game of the week stats

Cartman: "See! That's why I like them! They're outlaws! They score a billion points and steal everyone's lunch money!"

Foghorn: "Boy, that ain't generally considered admirable."

Cartman: "Maybe not by you."

Sin City Bulldogs

Foghorn: "Now hold on. The Bulldogs have not only gone 4-0, they've allowed exactly ZERO points. They've rushed for 1,856 yards and 41 touchdowns. That's not football, son. That's agricultural machinery." Game of the week stats

Carrot Top:

(Pulls out toy steamroller.)

"I found the Bulldogs offensive playbook!"

(Drives toy steamroller across table.)

"Page 1: Run left. Page 2: Run right. Page 3: Run over whoever's in front of you."

Cartman: "That is literally my favorite strategy."

Eric Cartman's Pick

Cartman: "Okay, obviously I'm taking the Renegades. They're criminals. They steal stuff. They do whatever they want. That's leadership."

Foghorn: "Boy, that's called felony activity."

Cartman: "Exactly. You must respect their authoritah'"

Foghorn: "That is not helping your argument."

Cartman: "Screw you guys, I'm picking the Renegades."

Foghorn Leghorn's Pick

Foghorn: "Well now son, while you're admiring lawlessness, I'm gonna pick the Bulldogs. Discipline. Toughness. Defense. Those boys haven't given up a single point all season and that's the kind of consistency that'll put biscuits on the table." Game of the week stats

Carrot Top's Pick

Carrot Top:

(Holds up giant dog bone.)

"I gotta go Bulldogs."

"Because if I show up with this giant dog bone and a team called the Bulldogs loses, I've wasted twenty bucks at the prop warehouse."

Final Prediction

Foghorn Leghorn: Bulldogs 28, Renegades 21

Carrot Top: Bulldogs 31, Renegades 20

Eric Cartman: Renegades 35, Bulldogs 28

Closing

Cartman (sweet voice): "Mr. Bulldogs, could you maybe let the Renegades score just a little bit? Pretty please?"

Foghorn: "Boy, I don't think that's how competition works."

Cartman: "Fine! Then I hope they get cattle-rustled!"

Foghorn: "There he goes again. One step forward and three yards backward. That boy, I say, that boy just ain't right in the head."

Carrot Top:

(Holding cowboy hat in one hand and dog bone in the other.)

"I've got props ready for either winner. If the Bulldogs win, I celebrate. If the Renegades win, I sell all this stuff on eBay."

Foghorn: "I say, that's all for this week's Game Day America. We'll see whether the Bulldogs keep pitching shutouts, or whether the Renegades ride off with the biggest upset of the season." 🏈

🏈 Week 5 Rapid-Fire Predictions

Hartford Bouncing Pickles vs Blitzin' Dots CPU

Eric Cartman: "The Pickles score way too much. Plus they sound annoying, and I respect that."
Pick: Hartford Bouncing Pickles 56-7

Foghorn Leghorn: "Son, the Pickles have rolled through nearly everybody while Blitzin' keeps finding new and creative ways to lose football games." Game of the week stats
Pick: Hartford Bouncing Pickles 49-10

Carrot Top: "I brought a giant pickle and a calculator. The pickle wins by about six calculators."
Pick: Hartford Bouncing Pickles 63-7

Consensus: 🥒 Hartford Bouncing Pickles 56-8

Buckhead Royal Knights vs Berlin Mustaches

Eric Cartman: "Knights get castles and swords. Mustaches just sit on faces."
Pick: Buckhead Royal Knights 42-14

Foghorn Leghorn: "I say, Berlin finally showed signs of life against Blitzin', but Buckhead's offense should still be too much."
Pick: Buckhead Royal Knights 35-17

Carrot Top: "I had a fake mustache prop but Buckhead stole it and rode away on a horse."
Pick: Buckhead Royal Knights 38-10

Turf Warriors vs Martian Invasion

Eric Cartmansweet voice) "Mr. Martians, if you win maybe you'll give me a laser gun?"
(after thinking) "Actually the Warriors hit harder. Forget the Martians."
Pick: Turf Warriors 28-20

Foghorn Leghorn: "The Martians have talent, but the Warriors play defense meaner than a wet hornet." Game of the week stats
Pick: Turf Warriors 24-14

Carrot Top: "I brought an alien helmet and a lawnmower. These Landscapers will have more luck waiting outside the Home Depot than beating Marvin and his gang."

Pick: Martians 31-17

Broad Street Bullies CPU vs Rome Gladiator Yaks

Eric Cartman: "The Bullies are exactly my kind of people, but they also lose constantly. So weak."
Pick: Rome Gladiator Yaks 35-7

Foghorn Leghorn: "Ain't much mystery here. The Yaks have spent all season stampeding opponents."
Pick: Rome Gladiator Yaks 42-3

Carrot Top: "I brought a yak costume. Nobody brought a bully costume because apparently they've got no fans."
Pick: Rome Gladiator Yaks 45-0

Mr Coach Kline's DOTS vs Irridescent Ditch Fish

Eric Cartman: "The Fish are kinda weird. The DOTS have a guy named Coach Kline. Hey mmmmaaaaahhhh, why is there a picture of Coach Kline on your nightstand?"

Pick: Mr Coach Kline's DOTS 24-21

Foghorn Leghorn: "Boy, this one is tighter than a jar lid. Fish's passing attack gives 'em just enough advantage."

Pick: Irridescent Ditch Fish 27-24

Carrot Top: "I brought a fishing rod and a connect-the-dots puzzle. The puzzle seems more organized."
Pick: Mr Coach Kline's DOTS 28-20

Love these writeups

On a sie note. The Yaks are tired of this .500 record so the Yaks have decided to do regular season game planning to win our next 4 games in a row. Yaks will be the Gold team with the gravitas to boast of a 4 game win streak! Go Yaks!
