So with that in mind it might sound crazy to us they won't do a marketing push to get more agents in but I don't think Bort is interested in more revenue.

Great. The reason for doing it would, in that case, be to improve the gameplay experience. More players => more dots => more teams => better competition => new ideas for doing things differently. More agents would also breathe new life into the forums.

I'm one of the original agents to the game - joined, I believe, n season 2. I also left and stayed away for more than a decade. The only thing that brought me back was a GM offer from ATKM. I logged in randomly and saw the invite. I looked at the forums - saw they were dead, the leagues were in decline, my retired legacy dots were gone - but GLB2, the free players, and an outstanding flex balance lured me to build 3 dots. Once I did I built the 4th, bought more flex, and made another free player.

But here's the issue - the same flaws that caused me to leave over 10 years ago remain, and are now, magnified. There are only a handful of non-CPU managed teams. The "build-meta" has seemed to significantly reduce the variability of builds, and the difference at the highest levels are the coordinators and variability of the SIM. It feels like unless I am building a dot that fits a handful of people's view of what a dot should look like I am wasting my time - even if it is accelerated.

If there isn't going to be an effort to bring back more players (which sending a reminder to folks who have flex to come back and play) you have to make the CPU teams better. Right now, my dots play 3-4 competitive games a season. That's not interesting. One thing I did see in GLB2 that might be beneficial here is "Franchise" mode. If this was here, and gave unlimited free dots (and yes, throw in the CE) you will get more teams, more variability and I will burn through flex faster.

I think that's the problem, the person I spoke to said GLB is essentially still running because it was Bort's passion project. He's not interested in putting any meaningful effort in to improve the sim, or balance attributes because he doesn't care about money or expanding the playerbase.

Wish he'd at least try and fix the INT situation but we all know that's ngth

Its a serious detriment to the game. It forces all sorts of all-or-nothing strategy since the idea of running a "west coast offense" at the upper levels is virtually impossible.

Some form of that would be great beneficial to this game as I imagine it helps with the numbers of teams on GLB2, but I can admit that I have seen quite a few returning agents recently come back since I have returned. I think an email blast once off-season is close to concluding is the best way to try and bring agents back. They've already decreased the cost to make players and shortened the time to reach plateau (both are huge W's)

Oh he cares about the money. Take a minute to estimate what he is making, I think it. Is most likely a lot.
