Dude, there is no one-size-fits-all Capitalism. Clue: there's more than one party/wing on both sides of the Pond. And really, let's just put this debate on definitions to bed.

#1 most important thing to me is that games should be watchable. If you want to cut your teeth on the hardest competition to improve you don't have to waste a league or ladder game on it - just scrim top teams to your heart's content. League and ladder games should be balanced, competitive, meaningful, and entertaining for both sides to watch. I don't want to log in to watch a 100-0 win and nobody wants to log in to a 0-100 loss. This isn't rocket science.

That is literally what ladder is striving to achieve. I think the ladder needs some work...but the reason ladder is boring is because there is no grand finale...only top 3 or 5 "win something" out of what...100 teams?

Let's face it. If your team does not make the playoffs, you don't care about the season anymore. If we had some kind of bracket/tourny play to end the ladder each year, agents would stay engaged.

Actually..scrap that. If you fall out of the top 10 or 15 in ladder, you don't care about the ladder games anymore for the rest of the season. Ladder games fall to "scim level" of excitement. The ladder could be just as, if not more, entertaining and exciting as the league games...if it was done correctly.
