Not sure what SB Nation charges for an ad spot. Sports forum if you never heard of it. Think it has sub sites for all teams. Football for sure. Not sure about a foreign market

No clue how advertisement works so no help there. Just offering a well traveled site.

Well, SB Nation is part of Vox Media, that runs and owns hundreds of websites. They don't have an advertising platform, they have a link to email them about advertorials, but I'm guessing since they own and run hundreds of websites, they probably charge more than a couple hundred bucks.

Not at all sure. But yeah if they own hundreds I can’t think it would be to cheap, you are right I’m guessing. Also not sure what FB costs either. Was just a thought.

if your only willing to spend a couple hundred bucks then you wont be advertising pretty much anywhere that matters.....Maybe I took that out of context but if that's your budget for advertising that's pretty sad considering I spend that much every few months on this game myself. This game is the only one like it I know and with an influx of people could make you guys soooo much money and make it sooo much better for the user base you have. No disrespect but a couple hundred dollar advertising budget is just outright laughable. I cant imagine the amount of money you guys have made since 2008......I cringe at just what I have spent.......To not reinvest that into growing what you have is bad business.... it takes risk to get reward.... you have a one of a kind highly profitable commodity if you just could get it out there to a larger targeted audience. sure it would be a risk but the payoff could be huge.

Even with a couple hundred dollar budget(I'm really hoping this is monthly), I think the YouTube idea is solid. You're getting a guaranteed 5,000-10,000 view plug. And I'm not talking about YouTube before video adverts, I mean actually getting the YouTuber to mention the game in their videos, and post a link in their description. You could even potentially get someone to review the game.

Yeah, we sent out a couple thousand emails to various outlets, including YouTubers, at launch trying to get a review or a mention anywhere. We got two "maybes" that later turned it down. I've personally sent out emails since then and have yet to get a response from any source.

Great idea, if browser games weren't considered a joke.

I mean I doubt they are taking your money and living a lavish life style on their private yachts. Probably spending most their money on servers and what not. Probably not huge amounts to spend on advertising. Especially the kind in which is going to hit for a ton of users.

Probably so though they do have lower costs. I used to be one of the regular bloggers over on BucsNation, back when I was younger.

As for overseas You guys actually used to had a huge French contingent on GLB1, so much so that several agents I had players from built several french speaking only teams. The regional battles from GLB1 I think contributed to some of the foreign appeal.

You also have one of the editors of WalterFootball.com who plays on this site since GLB1.

As for myself I'm one of those you got in from 2008. Played for a few years left migrated back when you launched GLB2 ; well mid-way through season 1 anyway left came back.

It's a unique user experience that is still very good but , respectfully no longer Amazing without the connected forum activity. I still think one of the things that while I was deeply in favor of at the time did you guys no favors in the long run was opening pee wee and rookie league's human control. There was something about incentive's owners to go scouring the D-League's to meet and find new users. Also the GLB2 experience right now is plagued by the same thing as the NBA a few superstar teams and then a big gap that's gotta make it difficult to retain new users.

Corndog,

I actually enjoy browser based games still and as far as them being dead, I'm not sure that's the case. As long as their is online gaming people will log into their computers (especially at work) to enjoy the simple and fun things in life as GLB. I've been here since 2008 with only one year away from the game. I dont play religiously like others but I still sport full teams in hopes of helping keep it alive even if I dont have the time to put in.

Are you looking at a GLB3? May give a chance at a resurgence and a chance for all of us to help you market a new release as well as bring some of the old members back. If not, the game is still a very solid sim, what you and Bort have done since the beginning is nothing short of incredible looking at the budget you guys have to face juggling regular lives with trying to venture out and bring the gaming and football enthusiasts to together. I've met a good group that we play games like blood bowl and other games together as well as this one so you've done a very good thing. What we are suggesting in no way meant to insult you guys as if we didnt believe in the product we wouldnt still be playing 10 years later.

From what we can tell you have done facebook marketing as well as sent out emails (have you tried to purchase a different email domain in case you are getting flagged for spam as I've never seen an email from warriors or glb?) Other than the obvious tell our friends about it, tell us how you want us to try and help? Should we get a group of guys around the world that try to youtube together some results?

I think where we are all going with this is none of us want the game to die as its a good part of our lives. Help us help you.

Thinking spending a few hundred a month on advertising is cheap is miles away from thinking they are yucking it up on yachts living the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

this times 1000. I love this game and have been playing since the beginning of GLB1. I would hate to see it go. I just wish there were more people playing again. its so much better when the forums are alive and people are posting league match writeups. I havnt seen one of those in forever.

What they need is for somebody with deep pockets to invest. This game has so much potential it is ridiculous.

I mean, we don't need money as much as we need influence. The money to influence exchange rate is kind of the problem.
