Yeah with stiff arm you should be on combo/north-south.

And he got shafted on his rankings...I think he had the most yards or 2nd most yards, but the game holds breaking tackles higher in ranking

:/ that blows. I mess around with combo styles to get a high ranked back - even my newest guy is a combo for no good reason, could have made him entirely elusive and had a much better go of things.

That's actually not a bad idea with that build type at all, the more elusive styles seem to help stiff-arm fire. Slippery seems to work especially well, but also has the problem of fumbling on kickoff returns - elusive is the best style for running up the gut anyhow and with 70 aware...

Kinda blows my mind, no wonder that shit worked out so well. And Elusive has the extra bonus of running out of bounds when it can to preserve confidence.

Yup, heart is expensive so it's best to go heavy on tough and conditioning - but still taking heart up to a decent level.

Then again there are plenty of viable builds, just that tough and conditioning high ones are easy to not have hot and cold type things happen. You may not have as good stats at the end of the season because the extra points invested in toughness and heart can hold you back in blowout games, but you will be there and fighting hard each game instead of 'disappearing' for some games.

He got us back to back 2nd place in Vet, thought I still feel that first season we should've been number 1 when we had the tie breaker...but c'est la vie.

Agree with the SAs, that truly a bit part of things. HBs make nice jumps once the hit Gold in a SA. Can't say heart really has impressed me. Dream's last season in Vet we ran a powerback(Fritz), comboback(Highlight), rQB(Tecmo Russell Wilson), and all three had 10+ ypc that season with very little heart(less than 25). Morale never was an issue either. Toughness is something that's caught my eye with garbage Truck though, mainly due to the effect on stamina.

having used both Fritz and Eraser I can tell that Eraser fires power thru more often.

The two superstars were both on successful teams, but they also were accompanied by a DeeVee 100 conditioning/high toughness back each time so they don't get the benefit of racking up stats from huge blowouts. The other guys (aside from Tubz who was a build I followed for Myrik) were on pathetic teams - so not a lot of time to rack up blowout stats there either.

It's better to build with the purpose of helping your team win tough games than to build with the purpose of getting amazing stats in blowout games. Hype was a back people planned around, even though Zombie was the one who got most of the stats - that's fine because it helped the team win to have one halfback who broke down the defense and built up offensive confidence to then have a 100 condy powerback just break 100 tackles at the end of the game to keep the ball moving.

Tubz was a quality backup HB, even back when we didn't know about conditioning being so OP.

My Bob Murdoch II build was an experiment that paid off in dividends, I'm hoping Bob Murdoch III does even better...he's on a good start so far.

II: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/234757

vs

III: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/271677

III had a bad game starting out here, but I think he surpasses II in the same tier midway through season.
