I think that the devs need to listen to both veteran power players for what they want in order to continue contributing financially to the game and to new players for what they need in order to keep them in the game. We need both. But I believe their wants and needs are at both ends of the spectrum.

So said new player buys his own team, can't compete and doesn't bother to figure out why. One more gone before they started.

Also wouldn't hurt to force depth to be used more. As is QB, HB, TE, WR1/2 are the only positions worth making on O for a new pkayer(and this is if they are on a decent run team). Any new agent who doesn't get to build one of these players likely will lose interest quickly. Once people figured out you can stack conditioning depth became obsolete. That makes it even more boring for new agents who made the 4th WR for someone. Their WR is lucky to see a pass or two a game.

For myself I just can't justify spending what it takes. I have a two year old and his future is more important than being able to field my own team. In penny pinching mode lol

I've said all along I think the game would do better as a subscription based game where people build their own team for a seasonally fee. Cap S*s and charge extra for them. Instead of 10 agents or more on one team you get 10 teams instead. I know this has its own issues, but I think agents would stick around and try and figure it out longer just by having their own guys getting the touches.

All great ideas, but what we need is more cowbell.. I got a fever! I would say time is the biggest defector for me.. The back to back games are killer. I know that is why people blow off ladder games because it's a bitch to game plan b2b. When I was really active and tried to game plan it took a good amount of time. Maybe every other day? The season would be crazy long but that in my opinion would help, at least people that are busy with RLS.

Every other day would actually keep some consistency between games, game planning, and all but then there's that off day. No one really likes off days. This could be a good thing for new and old users though as it would allow more time and flexibility to get things done. And longer seasons really wouldn't be all that bad.

With that said, this brings me to my 2nd idea post (which is a continuation of Hammer's) and that's tournaments on the off days. It'd essentially would like a pickup game and there'd be a button or some sort to insert ones team into a tournament that would last the duration of the season. It wouldn't add any stats or anything to a player nor would it affect a teams record (which is why I said it would basically work like a pickup game). It's 500 flex to buy a team so either half or a little under half of that to enter a season long tournament. We'd have more games to watch, would keep interest levels high, and would be something all the newer agents could use to mess around with and learn a bit from. For the Vet guys we'd use it for bragging rights of course, and the competition would be consistently good at this level considering there's no CPU and your playing other solid teams every step of the way.

You'd have to figure out a way to compensate the winner of course (like if a Vet team wins they get one free reset when ready, awards are non stackable- something like that) but with how much you'd make that wouldn't be a problem. And teams wouldn't have to worry about playin outside their weight class because it'd be a tournament per tier.

It seems like a win-win to me in the long run, which is basically what we're trying to come up with to retain users

Ive been trying to get tournaments for years. I even started my own tournament type of thread. It was more of a winner stays on the field type of thing.

The Ladder is the tournament.

Nothing is stopping users from organizing tournaments. We did it all the time in GLB1. All pass, all run, linemen in the backfields skill players on the line, no custom no boost, etc. When they stopped allowing users to submit trophy gifs they fizzled out.

The ladder here is a huge tournament and better than the single elimination tournament there imo because everyone competes in it and it lasts all season.

The lack of trophy gifs is what's really stopping users from doing it though...at least imo

Yeah, at this point what would it hurt? There should be a minimum amount of teams required and very limited trophies per tourney. Probably no more than two given out per.

I'd be fine with 8 or 16 team min, 1 trophy

User created tournaments would be great. Could work like scrims/challenges. Maybe allow custom trophy graphics that can be uploaded

First time team owner here. I find the off days terribly boring and pointless. I can watch replays and adjust game plans in the same day.... I don't need a whole separate day to do that.
