These are just generalist builds, obviously in most teams an SS would never have both man and zone awareness, and there is room for several players to be better in certain aspects in exchange for being worse in others. But these are generalists, and can be tweaked for each team. I mainly made them as guides for myself for any other defensive S*'s I build from now on to make sure I hit certain baselines, like I will never build another S* DE that doesn't have both 100 prt and brb.

Isn't the ILB tackle low? And how much BRB does a run stopper LB needs/limit?

If you are winning the block roll, your DT doesn't need balance. The OL does.

My lights out amazing DT averages less than 1 tackle attempt a game every season. Why would I sink a ton of SP into tackling?

Does a defensive lineman really nred 100 BRB and prt? I would think 90 would be enough. You need to pad other skills too.

And if you are losing, you will be on your arse.

PRT, and BRB are the most important skills, besides the DE I posted doesn't really have any obvious holes, what skill would you trade PRT and BRB for on a DE? Look long and hard at the build and tell me what you want more of in exchange for the two most important skills of a DE.

Maybe balance to 55. I think balance helps them after they spin. Conditioning needs to be at least 80. Tackling Tech should be higher too. Nothing worse than getting to the ball carrier only to get thrown to the ground. Maybe I am scarred from all the stiff arms these power HBs have been giving my guys

If I dropped anything for tackle tech it would be hold ground.
PRT and BRB are going to be the main skills that determine if you win or lose your blocking interactions. Dropping it for more balance would be counter-productive, and I think 71 conditioning is fine for a DE, they aren't running very much each play like the LB's, and DB's are going to be running. Conditioning mainly determines how much energy your dot loses while they are running, it has some affect on how much is lsot during blocking interactions, but toughness plays a bigger role on energy loss during blocking interactions.

I know the conditioning craze is going on right now, but it's very important not to over-do it and cripple your build in other places. 71 conditioning is great for a DE.

You can't overdue Conditioning on defense because you need points in so many places to be successful.

So this is what I'm trying to figure... what is the sweet spot on Conditioning in regards to defense? Is it 70? Is it 80? It has to vary per position, and if so who needs more than others?

So maybe spend the SP on not losing.

That's a really good build, though I frankly would drop both PRT & BRB to 90, and use that SP for footwork, pwrtckl, and holdgrd. Footwork is criminally underrated for linemen.

I've found that (talking pure zone defense here) players that sprint alot need ALOT of conditioning. Pass defending LBs and DBs who back peddle or side step alot do not need much conditioning. DL that blitz need a good amount, but don't need a ton.
