I like the weather, but really wish GLB allowed teams to set a home "region" before the season. A southwest team would get mostly sunny conditions, but also high temps. A midwest team would get cold temps, and more rain/snow. Could allow for real home field advantages.

Would love this. Give us a real home field advantage.

Its much easier to control weather at a global level than local to a team. I imagine weather conditions are joined directly to the calendar table (if not in the table) and every game inherits the weather from there.

Adding it at the team level increases the number of places you have to store the data and slightly increases the complexity in bringing it into the sim.

I don't think it would take a massive effort to do it on a team basis, but would definitely be a little more work.

That's a good point, though there would only be around six regions total or so. So every team in the southwest would get the same weather, and everyone in the midwest would get the same, etc.

Not sure if the sim could handle it though.

At the very least they'd have to add region to the team table (or somewhere in the structure) and then join it to a region table that would contain the actual weather for the region. At sim time there would need to be a join from team to region to determine the weather. Not super hard to do, but definitely a bit more than just one type of weather for everyone.
