Not too late to join! Still have 3 CPU teams in Bulldog. I think Nigerian Nightmare (who won last season) didn't even join until after 1 or 2 games had been played.

In addition -- I'm hoping that if there are newer players amongst the CPU Challenge crew - the rest of us will be open to answering questions / helping out / giving opinions on stuff too -- so a perfect learning opportunity for someone.

Good game Peta!

I got pretty lucky I think. When I saw that you'd used human slots on your O Line - I was certain you were going to be a running team. fortunately you dropped enough balls to not take advantage of my zone defenders.

Also - man - your CB's sure manhandled me on the outside runs. At first I thought using human slots on CB's might be a mistake...but it wasn't this game.

Then again - based on your completion % of 33% / 20% -- maybe you are a running team that forgot to change your game plan.

As promised... I'm in. Wrong league but that's ok.

awesome. If my records are right - that gives us 8. Guaranteed we should pull off at least a few good wins this season.

Lots of Spam falls to Beer Town Brawlers - did not realize they were a QB rushing team. GG!

ouch - one of the pitfalls of game #1 on the season.

Maybe it's just me - but going back several seasons now - QB rushing teams are the ones I struggle with stopping the most.

Who? us? Uncle Rico can throw a pigskin over a mountain!

I was shitting myself when you started passing. When I game planned you hadn't made any players yet so I left the same defense we ran against TxSteve in a scrimmage last night. Thank goodness players can't catch for shit in early season rookie games. I was loving how we kept running a HB pitch strong right into your zero edge blitz. 8 rushes for -40 yards and a fumble.

Yeah, my cha cha team lost week 1 to a fully locked and loaded Boise St. Stallions with some nice superstars on that team. Close game though, fumble on my 24 in the 1st quarter resulted in a drive for a TD, then a bad play call on my behalf on my own damn 1 yard line and then resulting to a sack and a missed field goal, should have punched it up the gut for the TD. Those two plays could have easily been the swing in my team winning, but oh well lol, I'm still happy my team did well against a loaded team. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/231405/box_score

WCM numbah 1 rookie team after CBS had a 600 yard rushing day. Not bad for the first ladder game of his career.

Scrubs moves to 4-1 behind shaky offense...but good defense.

Kind of have to ignore ladder rank at this point since something went wrong with Bulldog's initial ladder ranking.

Can already see that 'successful' running is dramatically harder than successful passing at this stage of the game -- requires way more time to customize an offense -- and even then - much easier to get absolutely shut down if you guess wrong or face a tough defense.

Anyone wanna track how the CPU challenge teams are doing?

Lots of Spam at 4-1 - loss to a QB rushing team in Game 1 was pretty annoying. We do carry a S* TE though - which makes doing the CPU challenge substantially easier.

Someone should try running 10 S* players next season and see if they can get to the #1 spot.

Looks like it just the Geoducks at #10 and WCM at #1 still. It must be our point differential keeping us up there. We have a target on our back for sure.

I didn't even realize WCM was a CPU challenge team. Jesus ya'll made my D look stupid these past 4 scrims, although to be fair in one of them I forgot to input the right playbook, that was the one where we gave up 70 points in case it wasn't obvious.
