Caps are one thing. What will the build look like when all your SP has been invested?

This one had a lot of caps in the 70's and was a jack-of-all trades type:

GE doesn't, but I have had an EB WR in Vet that did quite well. He had 55 hands and 52 rec con.

In his two Vet seasons, he caught 51.4% of targets and dropped 9.6% of targets. But I didn't build him to be a possession WR. He had very good (for a non S*) YAC figures and therefore a lot of TDs.

I think Hands and CIT became a bit more important this season with how well defenders can play the ball now. I wouldn't want to have a guy under 60 hands on my team regardless of the rest of his stats unless maybe his only role was catching screens.

Yeah, I'd agree with that.

I'm just not a fan of having 4 ish identical builds at WR, which a lot of people seem to like. Don't need 4 guys that can run the same routes.

Unfortunately, it is tough to recruit non-identical WR in Vet, as every time someone posts a thread soliciting advice on how to build a WR that can do X, they get a standard cookie cutter suggestion. What about a WR that can do Y, same advice. Z, same advice again.

I like that well-rounded S* build, but could probably be tweaked a little to make it even better. Don't need 70 Rec Awr (40-50 imo) or 70s in the Route skills. I forget if he had gold Head Fake, but if so you could switch that to another SA and go light on Route Elus. If you could do all that and get Sprinting as high as possible, I think you'd be happier with the results.

That being said, I do have a non-S* WR on Central with 60+ RBT and nice possession skills. Only 43 Sprinting iirc..hasn't really been a problem. He's not an Early Bloomer, but I think I could make that work even with a non-S*.

Damn he is slow. How does he have time to get open?

Head Fake is probably his only way to get open.

Built him to catch more than 50% of his passes. Even when covered.

But the QB won't throw to him if he is covered.

Gotta agree with GE on this one. He is a liability on third down because he will never reach the first down line in time to be targeted.

I am definitely creaming over those receiving skills though...

Probably part of the reason my team sucks. I didn't know at the time he wouldn't get targets.

Well he is getting targeted, not as much as some other S* WR but still, he gets a decent amount of targets.

What surprise me is that he doesn't have a very good catch ratio. From watching a few replays I would say it's because the QB throws him the ball even if he doesn't create any separation and the catching rolls aren't easy to win when you have a CB very close to you, even with 100 in CiT and 97 in Receiving Hands.

Wonder what his QB's build looks like...
