Also, it's not like its a eveyrplay thing. Most of the time blocks still got picked up.

we just got tossed into a division with logzilla who is a top 5ish team, and because they are 15 right now, a loss to them early would probably drop us to something like #5 from #1

ELO/K need to be modded, but not reset...

MODS - DON'T BE LAZY!

Fear me TDiddy.

Fear the Boys.

Sapphire Beta is where Vet teams go to die though. Except whoever wins it.

We'll find out, my Elusive+Balance HB build is now complete. And on top of that, I'll probably have to stick to mostly Off-tackle stuff...so the sideline BS should be less of an issue as well.

New defensive plays

All are cover 1 double lurk variations:

- Previously existing cover 1 double lurk plays (nickel, dime 3-2-6) also have been fixed to actually be cover 1 and not cover 2

Bort and Corndog seem to be focusing on GLB2 a lot this off season. With that, can we see any changes to Zone defenses(Homer request), but we finally have a Zone defense hitting Pro this season and if it can be proven viable it would be nice to get some more variety across the userbase on defense. Also, some easy fixes on a lot of Route running where the WRs do that double move that slows down the route greatly.

Does this mean I get free flex for winning a defensive play contest this season?

I like them all too. Especially those with the SS coming down for the lurk. That last one is a hell of a gamble. Dual strong side blitz. Better hope the TE stays home to block the blitz. If he runs a corner route, it's a touchdown.

It would do pretty well vs TE Post and possibly those Strong side Pitches from the 3 WR set.

I can see this, but it wouldn't be an every game kind of play unless you have an amazing blitzer at LOLB

yup, that's what I was thinking too. Solid strong side run defense play probably. Great coverage play for TE over the middle stuff. Reallly, Really risky against something like WR Posts.

Generally, I'm for more SS in under coverage type plays. We need more reasons to have SS builders go with the cool zone SAs to try and create some Troy Polamalu type guys.

Yea, don't think I would run it vs a good passing team. It could come into play vs a Balanced team who throws in long distance situations and you wanted to force the ball to the TE. Either way, I'm all for new plays and hope we get to see more.

Oh man that is excellent. TE Post absolutely murdered the C2 double lurks, but now that we can actually have the SS man the TE, it should be sexy. I wonder if Bort's changes to under zone coverage would help in this area as well?

Since there are so many double lurk plays now, one of them is bound to have their drops behave differently, which could really help against some other routes.

I want to assess the effect of the this "outside run containment" fix. Excuse me for not knowing the GLB terminology. I don't frequent the forums but I have been playing regularly for the pass 7 years maybe. I am noticing weird inconsistent game play now with zone coverage LBs doing "their own thing" when the ball is snapped.

In this play below the defense is in 5-2 Cat Blitz ZOne which places one LBs in a medium weak third zone, and another in medium center third zone coverage. The offense runs a HB Sweep Strong and the MLB reacts to the play in under a seconds time while the LOLB act like he is blind and continues to drop back into zone coverage for about 2 seconds while the play is developing! Furthermore the MLB has to cross in front of the LOLB in order to pursuit the runner to the left but the LOLB STILL cannot tell which way the play is developing so he continues to back petal until the play is 50% complete. Look at this LB play in Cat Blitz Zone and tell me why the two LB react so differently?

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/183558/3111875

MLB Blitz Awareness 50, Pursuit 71, Zone Awareness 56, Snap reaction 45.
LOLB Blitz Awareness 60, Pursuit 85, Zone Awareness 18, Snap Reaction 40.

Why are these LBs responding to this play so differently? They are both in ZOne and the one with LOWER Zone Awareness responds better than his counterpart. There seems to be a huge discrepancy between what these two LBs see on the field. The one with MORE ZOne Awareness plays worst in the zone.

Am I missing something?
