Which is the main reason CiS is a terrible first SA choice. How many rookie owners and OC's do you see recommending their rookie WRs go out and pump balance up to 50+ early in the build? None. They're all more concerned with receiving hands, conditioning, and mobility.

You've got to be careful arguing with those lower % range SAs. It's like saying Juke isn't worth it for a power RB with 30 elusive running.

Obviously the extreme of 'first SA choice' is different than take it or not, though.

adderfist finally outed as Galithors multi?

Galithor is knowledgeable about the game....but the authority on all things running and passing? wouldn't take long to dig up 20+ posts that were either filled with misinformation -- or tears -- or inaccuracies with regard to the run game these past few seasons.

maybe his analysis here is correct....I certainly don't know. But adder...please remove galithors weiner from your lips for a second so you can get some oxygen and start thinking a little more clearly.

Ya'll remember that time txSteve, Bhall, peeti, or Romo started an advice or help thread on FAQ for new or inexperienced players?

No?

Yeah, me either.

Crappy community is crappy.

I basically ran Ask Nixx for a couple years and bhall had an entire private forum dedicated to helping OCs. TxSteve worked as Catch's Q&A helper. So yes I do.

GLB1 stuff huh? I'm looking back through the first page of the FAQ forum, and i see a couple of peeti and TxSteve threads asking questions, but no guides or advice threads.

Either way, go ahead and lock this thread Romo. It's been torpeetied. 90% of it's worthless for a new or inexperienced player at this point.

Yea I'm not totally sold on the original advice aside from Catch In Stride not being a good initial choice. I agree that it is not a good opening SA.

I thought YAC Attack was your YAC option. Catch In Stride, with balance option, helps prevent the knocking loose, the falling down catch or any other rolls associated with locking down a passer. There is a lot of RB and WR discussion in here but to me CiS was made for the receiving TE who is contested half the time and is in 5-8 yard pass situations a lot. Those players might need some help from CiS staying on their feet after a catch. Sure they're only going to get 1-2 yards by scrambling a little but when you're catching the ball just short of the first down marker that makes a huge deal.

YAC, to me, was your "I need help getting a lot of yards after the catch" option and CiS was the "I need help getting ANY yards after the catch" option.

I mean it started out as sound advice but then you started to litter it with misguided information.

I went and watched a top O vs top O vet game(I think was 1 vs 4 O). They ran the same 3 screens like 99% of plays. So I would think they are alive and well lol.
