Mostly blew 3 WR. I often times forget about that trips QB run when I am quick planning. Haven't seen that since Vipers.

No Name does indeed upset Mannheim as several of you predicted.

There were two major things that decided this game:

1: League officials are currently investigating the bank accounts of the referees assigned to this game. The game broke open when a referee inexplicably allowed this catch to stand. The WR's feet were clearly out of bounds. At this point it was obvious the fix was in...and there could be only one suspect really: Fair Forever. The FBI is likely on its way to his house right now.

2: Mannheim Steamrollers decision to live or die by the I Pitch Weak in today's game. Death it is. It was run 12 times...-2.8 yards per carry with a LONG of -1 yards (yes negative 1). The next most commonly run play was 7 times (plus 3 plays run 6 times). Was this an RNG job where the sim picked a crappy play and ran it an inordinate number of times...or was this a calculated (but very poor) decision? We'll see if we can catch up with Danthesportsman soon to ask that question.

As of this exact moment - that loss drops Mannheim to #5 and moves No Name up to #2

So - DantheSportsman -- did you get RNG'd in that game with all the weak pitches getting called? Or where you hoping that would work?

(I think post game interviews with coordinators would add a great deal to the game and keep things interesting).

Just realized the only team in the Top 14 of Rookie to not be in this thread is mine. Booo! Down with this prejudice of the 12th ranked team. (knock on wood before I lose and fall to 16th or something).

No comment on the refs

In all seriousness though, Dan had it pretty hard - No Name hasn't faced a single good pure rushing team this season so he had no games to scout.

First I just want to say GG to Fair Forever, he has a great team.

Regarding the I-pitch weak being called so much: it was tied with 3 other runs as being the highest priority outside run so I am not surprised that it was called so much, it is a bit "rng-ish" that it was called almost twice as much as any of those other runs though. Ultimately I think I still lose if it was only called an equal amount as the other plays.

Regarding the play calling overall: this is my first time coaching an all run team or a team that uses QB runs at all so I am still feeling out how to gameplan from one to game to another. Anyone else with Stobie's scout tool can see that if you scout No Name, they haven't played many all run teams all season (just mine, Seneca, and arguably the Trenton Devils). So, going into this thing I had very little to work off regarding what to expect. I could either form a plan around what little I could see or just make a somewhat random plan in the hopes that he couldn't stop everything. I went with planning off information I could see, that info was that he went heavy with 5-2 zone blitz roll to stop inside and strongside runs. I-pitch weak works nicely against that play, however he changed up and went with different defenses that totally crushed the weak runs. Live and learn.

As many of you predicted -- Bloody takes down the Virgins. Midway through the 4th it seemed like the Virgins might be able to make a game of it if they could just break off another long TD...but it wasn't to be.

Bloody played great D and forced two turnovers which was really the difference in the game.

For the moment: Bloody jumps from 10 to 8 and Virgins fall from 9 to 10.
