Might as well built them to run block well enough to pummel somebody on a screen pass. The offensive line is wholely irrelevant for delaying a pass rush on downfield passing plays.

Was interesting seeing the blitzing LB go right around your HB. Wonder if that is pass rush tech

I think they're failing the awareness check to handle the blitzer pathing. It looks similar to those blitzing CBs you sometimes see just run right past a ball carrier on outside runs due to failed blitz awaerness rolls.

Not that it matters. Catching passes is skill hungry enough that you can't afford to invest in pass blocking skills on a HB even those skills did anything useful.

Welp, classic rookie game between SCO and HAHA. Offense doesn't exist, so just hit the other team as hard as you can and hope for fumbles in nice field position. Then hope a rookie kicker doesn't miss.

SCO had 153 offensive yards, yet attempted 6 field goals. Hopefully this is the ugliest game I'll ever have the displeasure of watching.

Yup. Not sure what the best way would be to make him throw it quicker. Speed on receivers? Pass Awareness on QB? The few times Quick Read did fire, it didn't help any.

It's just a slowly developing play that doesn't work in rookie against a heavy blitz.

Diamonds is a pretty long developing play. Your WR's aren't even beyond the point of passing each other (WR3 has to be near his turning point for the throw most often) before you are pretty much sacked.

Yup, just noticed a few other plays had a good enough completion % against his Engage Eight. Originally I was only worried about the blitzes that sent 6 or 7. Theory being with a blitz of 6 or 7 the QB still has to wait for routes to "develop" since they've got a defender on them. With a blitz of 8, I thought he wouldn't need to wait for the routes to "develop" since they're literally uncovered. Guess the sim doesn't quite work like that, and the WR's have to hit 'X' point in the route before the QB will throw the ball.

So I didn't anticipate his 8 man blitzes, didn't realize they'd be as much of a problem as they were, and didn't adjust the playbook to counter that. 21 sacks, 4 lost fumbles, 6 field goal attempts later...of course I lost.

Morale of 26 didn't help.

The sim is fine as long as you're at 10 yards or less. But on 3rd and Long (10+), the QB is coded to hold the ball until the WRs get to the First Down marker. And once Morale stars going down, you hold the ball on 2nd Down too long too.

Right. But either way that play was never going to get the pass off before your blitz came because the WR's never got to the sweet spot of being targeted.

You sure that would help him release the ball earlier? Obviously it would help overall against heavy blitzes, but wouldn't that just affect the actual throw of the ball instead of the decision to throw it sooner?
