- 738 rushing yards allowed
- 11.4 yards/rush allowed
- Completed 36 passes

vs Queen City:
- 47 missed tackles
- 66 points allowed
- 772.5 rushing yards allowed
- 11.9 yards/rush allowed
- Completed 37 passes

Our lbs are in bad shape tackling wise, great break run block and power tackling absolute shit grip though.

interesting. Will that be defense #47 for Rob to run?

I'm kind of tempted actually -- would be a nice shield to protect our #1 position if Air Raid starts winning more.

Haha no. I need to shed a few jobs. I'd rather give some of the teams I have now some more quality time.

Do I need to break down your poor play calling vs Goal Line? Hint: both the Stunners and I exploited it

You called the following defensive plays against Goal Line. You even helped me additionally by adding the 3-2-6 edge 2 buzz in place of the 5-2 engage 8.

1. 5-2 Cat Blitz 2 Roll
- 3 YPC allowed vs 10 inside rush calls
- 9.2 YPC allowed vs 33 outside rush calls

2. Dime 3-2-6 Edge 2 Buzz
- 19.3 YPC allowed vs 3 inside rush calls
- 21.3 YPC allowed vs 19 outside rush calls

3. 5-2 Engage 8
- 10.5 YPC allowed vs 10 outside rush calls

So against Queen City, a team with big tackle breaking RBs and bullying run blockers, you chose to call 22 Dime 3-2-6 Edge 2 Buzz calls vs Goal Line, placing 6 secondary defenders on the field each time for me to pancake and break tackles. Not LBs.

5-2 Cat Blitz 2 Roll unfortunately isn't doing many people any favors anymore. That is something I noticed on watching all the Stunners, QCBC, INHS games yesterday and today.

The Engage 8 plays are pretty bad too I have noticed. Sucks up your players too much into blockers leaving the HB clear to do whatever he pretty much wants inside and out.

I get what he was trying to do with 3-2-6 Edge 2 Buzz but that is just killing yourself in every other way unfortunately even if you do stop a couple pitches.

Absolutely hate that we are once again coming back to talking about GL Formation. Can we at least get a flip option for defensive formations so one can adequately guard the strong side of the field?

It's difficult to reliably stop the goal line strong side runs, even if you know they are coming.

GL Sweep Strong has been ran over 1000 times this season in vet and is averaging over 10 yards per carry.

It is largely because of the incredible lack of strong side run stopping plays. There is a bevel of weak side blitz's that adequately stop the run. Especially from the 4-4 Big category. If you could flip that formation there could be a number of possibilities.

that's true - but it is heavily build dependent.

Looking at stobies:
5-2 cover 1 man under has held it to 2.93 on 14 tries
zero lb dogs has held it to 4.96 on 161 tries

have to have builds to stop it -- and the yards per carry gets knocked very off kilter by all of the bad builds/defensive plays called out there.

There's a lot of skewed data there, though.

There are 12 plays where TFLs are occuring on at least 25% of the playcalls vs Goalline HB Sweep Strong. Zero LB Dogs is the given that people are using, with 161 play calls resulting in 43.48% TFLs and 4.96 YPC. Factor out the CPU/garbage from that 4.96 YPC and you've got a healthy play choice if you need to stop HB Sweep Strong.

I told bhall via chat this morning that if I see 4-4 Zero LB Dogs I'll generally just pass on the goal line formation calls altogether.
