Site doesn't allow me to save the pic, so will state it first.

Made a 4-4 Cover 3 Invert that pulls the Interior D Linemen out and rushes only the OLBs and DEs (4 Man Rush) DTs cover the Shallow Middle, ILBs cover the strong and flat middle, CBs and S play Cover 3.

Another play that has very few counters are 2 WR Screen passes, you can do it with a couple of the Deep plays pretty decently but this will give you the ability to call a Medium Pass Blitz with the intention of shutting down a 2 WR Screen.

Play Strength & Weaknesses:

Inside Dives - Weak
Inside Slams - Weak
Outside Rushes Strong Side - Very Strong
Outside Rushes Weak Side - Very Weak
Passes - Medium
Screen Passes Strong Side - Very Strong

3-3-5 Formation
2 WR Screen Attack

Inside Dives - Medium
Inside Slams - Medium
Outside Rushes Strong Side - Weak

Gives you the ability to Stop Weakside Outside Rushes.

You really should use blue for shells and yellow for underneath.

I can't tell if that's a cover 3, cover 6, or a cover 2. Looks like probably a cover 6?

Looks like a lot of people want to slow down the TE out of the 3 WR set so here is my stab at the issue.

3-2-6 TE Lockdown
3WR Medium Man Defense

Inside Dives - Weak
Inside Slams - Weak
Outside Rushes - Weak
Passes - Strong

The reason I would use this play is because you would ensure that you have CB4 locked up on the TE leaving your LOLB to defend the HB. You have help over the top with the Cover 2 and you have the MLB sitting in the middle to slow down any Slant patterns.

Sorry about that, I'll fix them.

Cdog,

I have a bunch of Pass Medium / Long Plays & Blitzes I was going to draw up and this thread is so timely! Thank you.

Please don't close this thread today as I'm busy. (Sick family, hospital, the usual).

Thank you.

Not sure I'll get around to figuring out how to use the DPC and how to upload gifs somewhere...

but just wanted to say YAY for Corndog -- and yay for everyone taking the time to offer suggestions

my ideas which are useless and ineligible for the contest:

- double WR#1 (nickel 3-3-5 / dime 3-2-6 / qtr)
- double WR#2 (nickel 3-3-5 / dime 3-2-6 / qtr)
- double WR#3 (dime 3-2-6 / qtr)
- double WR#4 (qtr)
- double TE (nickel/dime/qtr)
- sell out to stop the strong side screen (though there are plays for this now)
- sell out to stop the strong side sweep
- stop the QB GL Roll out (abused too much at low levels - need a play to stop have blockers outnumbered but would likely be weaker inside)
- Stop the QB GL Roll out weak side (abused too much at low levels - need a play to stop have blockers outnumbered but would likely be weaker inside)
- Need more blitzes for the ROLB lined up wide weak where he is the only player blitzing (and better yet - don't call it a blitz)

My Offering is for zone defense.

We need to shore up the Cover 3 packages in a bunch of the formations.

Specifics of these plays:

- SS always gets an underneath zone.
- FS, CB1, CB2 always get the deep 3rd zones.
- Always rushing 4 at the passer, so 4 down linemen, or 3 down linemen and a LB. 5-2 rushes 5, only 6 in coverage.
- No Flat Zones.
- Nickel, 44, and 44Big already have decent Cover 3 style plays.
- I'd probably go with Spread LBs setup, Balanced D-line.

4-3: http://imgur.com/ljJgMdn
5-2: http://imgur.com/QcZxUbz
3-3-5: http://imgur.com/BwQREQ0
3-2-6: http://imgur.com/jw3my2h
Dime: http://imgur.com/DuSfJov
Quarters: http://imgur.com/9STcfrB

I think these plays would give a zone defense something much more useful to base around than the current Cover 2 offerings. With consistent use of the SS for under zones, and outside CBs for shell zones, it'd make it much easier to build players for the defense as well.

I'm quickly learning with DD 3.0 that we need some adjustments to Zone plays and Zone logic. I would absolutely run some of those Cover 3 plays you just posted.

Dime, Cut Cover 2

Wasn't exactly sure what the best role for the MLB would be, so I kept him as a blitzer but im open to suggestions.
This coverage gives the safeties a chance for a shallow zone instead of always being deep halves. The corners take the deep halves instead.

I'm not sure if I will have time to draw them up, but i'd love a more filled out 4-4 playbook. I'd love to run a 4-4 base sometime and see how it works. Specifically with some Tampa 2 type coverage, there arent enough plays that teams who want to have coverage LB's can use.

I would put the MLB into a deep middle third zone with the C2 shell over the top. I would also start the FS and SS further to the outside and a little closer to the line (almost where the line ends in the zones)

Why would that be used over the current Cover 4 Sink in the 3-4 formation?
