Linemen mainly get PDs because they are close to the QB, not due to high deflection.

its blitz aware and deflection. all linemen are close to the QB, every play.

If Air Raid will be around next season, I'm eager to see how my CB at Alaskan Assassins matches against these WRs. I honestly believe I have the best non-superstar CB in the game: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/77303

To be fair on this particular point, Cleveland still misses a ton of deep balls. The game from the OP is one of his more painful outings as far as "overthrows" are concerned.

I've argued before that I think it's a result of passing power lowering the trajectory of deep balls consistently. You get a very elongated oval target distribution for QB throws as a result, and the majority of that oval is going to be downfield out of reach for a WR.

If higher power could simple loft more high angle throws, with the targets deeper, you'd get less of an oval and more of a circle, and the WRs would have a better chance to adjust(defenders too, technically) and reach the passes. Even if the deeper targets necessitate a "bigger" circle.

That said, it's probable this would benefit the passing team more than the defending team. An incompletion is just as good as a deflection, and even with the buff to INTs, it's not like it'd cause a whole bunch more of them compared to the increase in receptions it'd cause, and particularly receptions of the catastrophic sudden bomb TD variety. So it probably isn't a good fix to do for balance reasons right now.

Is this the part where we critique the nonboosting strong safety in man coverage or the run stuffing corner?

Haha. The real truth is passing is obscenely overpowered. Teams that hold air raid to only scoring touchdowns close to half their drives have pulled off an epic feat defensively.

I'd counter that offense is overpowered in general. I consider it a great success on defense to hold a team to less than 30 points.

At the end of the day the offense has all the power in GLB2. You have some teams doing nothing but running and building specifically for that, and some other teams doing nothing but passing and building specifically for that, and then you have some teams that keep it more balanced, and defenses have to be able to stop all that shit. 43 is not big enough of a roster tbh.

I'll agree with Adderfist that offense in general is way too over powered, but if you sit back and just throw deep every play it is nearly impossible to stop consistently.

I still think it comes down to leadership being too powerful. If you remove it from the game, offensive builds will come down as people make their toons more physical to win tough games. Right now the defense is the only side of the ball tested, the offense just lols through win or lose with their glass cannon skill builds

Adder that throw was tremendous, on the move with no help from OTR..35 yard toss right on the money. No CiS needed to keep bursting full stream ahead. It doesn't get better than that. It's as good as Brown's throw without SA's on both ends. Well done.

I'm one of the biggest morale complainers, here's the basic summary of complaints:

1) Morale and energy are boring, spending time worrying about them versus football strategy isn't interesting or realistic. There's a reason they hire football guys to coach teams in real life instead of psychologists and psychiatrists.
2) It adds more variance to a game that already has a ton of it. Football seasons have a small number of games already, and turnovers already have a massive impact, morale and energy just make it crazier and even more frustrating to watch.

We actually benefit a ton from this shit, we've invested in both offensive and defensive morale skills, as well as toughness and heart, and cause as many or more turnovers than any other team, so this isn't a complaint because we're losing. I just hate watching morale spiral games.

I think it adds a dimension to the game. I just think offense benefits so often from even a 1-yard gain, when it should be negative, and leadership keeps the offensive morale issue irrelevant as long as you have some basic con/tgh/heart. leadership takes care of everything, and depth charts keeps energy in comfortable places.

Agree. If we could have just 2 more players on the roster that would be a HUGE boost to the defense. You can have 2 more specialized defensive players.
