My FB is half blocking and half receiving, the receiving side doesn't work at all because there are no custom read progressions in GLB2 like there were in GLB1: the FB gets read at the end of the progression on most routes, so he almost never gets thrown to unless something weird happens, like tons of pressure causing a quick read to fire, the QB is just too dumb to try throwing to him, even when he's wide open.

Galithor nailed it, though, only a very small number of passes are actually viable at the highest level right now, and the WR routes just aren't that great for a lot of the 2 WR plays unfortunately, most of the good ones are 3WR/4WR. This could also be solved by custom read progressions in theory, some plays have good WR routes but aren't viable because they are too late in the default progression.

My guy isn't all-out receiving, he doesn't have head fake for instance, so maybe somebody else out there has gotten it to work, but I also agree with the comment that it's important to be a run blocking threat too and am not willing to try going all the way unless the game changes significantly.

I've got a HB based on the tackle avoidance of Gold Freight Train (80+intim) and Gold Stiff Arm (80+carry awareness) and tops it off with Silver Mr Reliable. Power Running with the leftover points.

I plan on doing a scat-FB here soon as well.

I actually ran tests, I think you did not!

Coverage Awareness/Technique only will leave you with 66% of passes allowed, as I found out in a CB that for 2 seasons was dedicated to Intercepting: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/74225. Now check his stats at the third season after I bump Deflecting to 50+. It even affects the number of interceptions he gets! Now compare to my Deflecting heavy CB: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/77303, doesn't get interceptions, but has always allowed less than 50% of passes through.

I think the last information in the Deflecting skill, "and disrupt incoming passes" affects the outcome of every situation where your player must stand in the way of a thrown ball, not only pass deflections.

RIF has one.. YMMV.

Power returning HB. Why put Devin Hester back there, when you can just have Earl Campbell maul his way for TDs?

As far as Interceptions are concerned, I agree that without deflection it's not a great standalone skill. But a team built with strong interception specialists will give a team like Air Raid problems. It's very noticeable when we play a team that can pick off 2-3 passes out of 80 attempts vs a team that doesn't have a prayer to pick off a single pass.

Of course, to pump interception, you're necessarily giving up ground on run defense skills, so using it to combat the heavy pass attacks will come at the expense of handling the heavy rush attacks. Thus, you should S* all your secondary starters

Anyone got a stud pass deflection lineman build yet? Like one that's seriously invested into pass deflection and it made a big difference?

Yep, also, the investment rarely pays off since it is such an expensive skill. Even if you pick Ball Hawk, it gets more expensive than Sprinting [citation needed]. The interception data on a general level is often crap since even players without a single point invested to intercepting can snag a couple a season: my Seasoned LB has 4 interceptions so far with 9 Intercepting.

EDIT: Funny, can't paste links here on the iPad, but I'm talking about Soneca Maine.

I think what people continually don't get is that intercepting and deflecting aren't just lone skills that give you auto deflections or interceptions. They help but still require skills to help them work.
