What would be nice is if a player is a speedster to do a loft type pass once they're even with a CB.

Most logical would be to find a way to make it route dependent. Running a streak? Loft it. Running a comeback? Gun it.

Not the most ideal but I think it'd make everything much cleaner.

not a bad idea with it. at least gives the speedster a chance to actually catch a ball in stride. that and come on how many times have you really seen a wr burn a cb on a slant route against zero cov over the top and just catch it truly in stride and burn it

I started going through box scores and got bored in Season 6 lol. I know I've tossed a few deep ones, but I can't find them.

He had 75 power last season but I noticed how ineffective it seems to be so I used my free respec and dropped it down to 70 and pumped accuracy up quite a bit for this season.

EDIT-

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/76573/3485052 - This one traveled 39 yards before my WR caught it.
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/96149/3348482 - This one traveled 36 yards before my WR caught it.
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/95990/3290364 - This one traveled 50 yards before my WR caught it.

Of course the furthest pass came from a CPU QB lol.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/114844/282813 this is why i love pass power. not the longest but being able to squeeze a pass like that is satisfying

that one is less about good power finding the window than it is the underneath CB being awful. The vast majority of those outside bullets get deflected by a CB in that position due to the low trajectory.

the logic to bullet that because of the incoming safety is sound, but if the safety weren't there, the QB would have still thrown that pass the same way and kept the underneath CB in the play.

The point lies in that a lesser arm would have a harder time hitting that as you give both the cb and safety more time to react, catch up and make a play on that ball.

That's not how it really works though. I reality, the QB lofts and underthrown pass, and the WR adjusts, while the safety and CB have a very difficult time adjusting.

Look at the plays Adder linked above. QB throws that same pass every time even with no safety help. Why throw a 23-25 yard bullet, when he could loft it 35 yards, with less risk of an inaccurate overthrow. That low angle throw makes a slight miss deep suddenly be a huge miss deep. WR's have no chance to adjust.

Air Raid would have already scored a half dozen more touchdowns this season if it hadn't been for the unecessary deep route bullets. If Cleveland misses slightly, the ball just sails.

Sure theres less room for error but theres also fewer rolls for the defense to get after that pass. With lobs its a smaller window for success for the wr and a higher success chance for the defense. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/106797/1499472?player_id=24159 if my qb threw this pass its a completion.

If the WR was fast enough to burn the saftey and the ball was in the air for 50 yards...

Although this way a pretty deep pass. This is a great example of the benefit of an under thrown ball.

except the play i link was a 4-5 yard gap that my cb covered because the lack of power behind the pass. Jim is one of the better run first team qbs of the season 2 teams. That alone should be a statement that pass power has merit.

Well, from this thread I was starting to think leading the receiver to open space just didn't happen. But then I saw this replay:

USC, here's the perfect example of why that bullet pass sucks though. It's great when there is a safety over the top. But why would the QB do the same type of throw in this situation:

Plays like that are just infuriating for me.

yep, I even had a few of those today against a basically all-cpu team.
