We lost today to a team in the 20s and dropped a spot. Seems fair. Going 500 and basically not beating more than a couple teams rated higher than us this season has dropped us a half dozen ranks in the overall.

I really think ya'll are thinking about the rankings too hard.

we are 13-7 and your still 9 ranks ahead of us the highest we hit this season is 52 when we were 12-4 which was a grand total of two ranks higher than when we started the season.

We started the season higher though, up around 42 or so iirc. We've also played generally tougher teams in ladder than ya'll as well. Our losses didn't hurt nearly as badly because of where those teams were ranked. Other than Corning twice, and Santa Clara earlier in the season, we've not had any other bad losses from a ratings perspective.

Without morale spiral it could've been close, we're not ready to beat teams like this anyway though.

Going down a tier spot without playing a single journeyman team seems a little silly, we'll see if that happens.

ever thought that maybe I just like to "stir the pot"?

HBurg beats Nashville (Pro) 14-0... woo! First time they've been shut out all season. Gave up alot of yardage, but pass rush was in full effect today... 28 hurries, 9 sacks, 3 FFs/FRs

Yorickshire wants Harrisonburg next!

Well I dunno what you crying about I think the rankings work fine, It was end of Season 3 I think? Glasgow dropped to like 20 on the ladder the next season we worked our way into the top 10 I think we ended up 6th or something cause we lost to Lost Lounge who snuck into the top 5 that time in one of the last games of the season(this took a whole season to do) then we continued to stay in the top 5 for the rest of the way.

I don't think you can expect to shoot up 10 ranks just cause you beat a few teams in the middle of the ladder, it's not about one or two wins it's about putting together good streaks of wins to work your way up eventually. Plus the closer you get to the top of the ladder the slower you move up or down, it still takes a lot of wins to move up a bit and a lot of losses to topple down the ladder.

It's revenge for when you took the #1 spot from us last season. If I remember right you took it in this game, where we outgained you by almost 100 yards:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/75219

We played again after that and we won, but is was the last game of the season and we didn't gain enough to pass you in the rankings. We haven't played again since then, so we actually won the last head to head game but have still been 2nd this whole time.

That being said, it's not like I'm supporting this ladder system, I complained against it a lot in other threads and I'd be really frustrated too if I were you guys, I agree 100%.

your defense better play better than they did today if you're going to beat us... how'd you give us 35 points to KK? 9.5 yards per carry? you'd think you were playing Hawaii... haha. I held them to 1.8.

Yeah I get that rooski, I wish we played at least once or twice this season, that's why I wish we were in the league that you guys are in.

I'm pretty sure the last ladder matchup is #1 vs #2 tiers? I think we'll get that matchup.

it's funny what just a couple of overlooked items in the defense strategy can create - basically the defense came out 'out of phase' with what I wanted, it was brutal ... absolutely brutal - worst DC job I've done in a couple of seasons

plus, at least in my experience a solid pro team usually has a back or two that is hella hard to guarantee a tackle on - that can lead to long runs and chaos

I'm just giving you hell

it happens... I blew a few defensive schemes this season so far too.

We've greatly improved tackling at HBurg which helped against KK, because I'm tired of facing Hawaii, and getting to either of their RBs right at the line, then them breaking a tackle and going for a long run. I think like 80-85% of their rushing yards last game against us was yards after first hit
