The problem with a forum which is mostly full of posts by the same handful of people is that it can appear cliquey to new comers, occasionally one will pop up with the courage to post questions and show a willing to learn but to most casual newbies I would imagine it can be a daunting place, depending on age and previous GLB 1 knowledge i suppose.

Just post if you have something to say. Hell, post if you don't. See a cool replay? Post it in game recaps. Wondering if your HB had the most broken tackles in one game? Post it in main. Wondering if Xav's Mom has a spot open tonight? Post p much anywhere.

Half of the fun and everything you need to know in this game is on the forums. This isn't high school. It's Botball.

I find Xav about a tolerable as oral surgery and can't say I care much for him... but that last comment crosses a line and you should know better.

Maybe he was implying Xav's mom sells parking spots for the big fireworks display tonight?

If you post as much as Xav does, I'm pretty sure you've got a thicker skin than that.

I have always been an ineffective recruiter. Over time guys who actually signed with my teams ended up being my agents and built for me season after season. I'm not established in any way here so recruiting has been challenging. There are tons of FAs in the marketplace but none seem to want to sign contracts. I guess they are waiting for a different kind of team or a familiar face. I'll keep grinding and maybe I can pull this off.

be sure and sort ny recently updated. There's a bunch of folks on the market that are simply inactive.

Oh no, it crosses no line. Xav's mom is open for business. Trust me.

(Xav is about as tolerant of insulting him as anybody. Nobody can pierce that huge ego ; ))

Looking at the teams looking for players forum I am seeing:

1 million resetting rookie teams looking for coordinators, superstars, or slaves to build their lineman
A decent handful of pro teams mad at their shitty rosters looking for last ditch random upgrades to try and change their fortunes

and barely anything in between

Sophomore to Journeyman is atrocious right now as a free agent, sophomore is at least plausible because you always have dropouts after the rookie tier when you try to adhoc a team with a theme but good fuckin' luck in Seasoned and Journeyman. Way too many teams have reset and the remaining teams have been rolling with enough of the same guys at this point to only need niche upgrades at best.

Even if player building has gotten a lot more fun in GLB2 than the original it really does seem like quicker than ever we are treading down that long dark path where you build your player and then shut your eyes for months until they hit caretier

Of course if you build all your players with more or less reliable agents from Rookie it's easy to never even notice.

There are 120~ threads of FA's going back to July 1st on the players looking for teams in Seasoned alone, and a good chunk of those are multiple players. If every seasoned team in existence needed 5 new players (they don't) there would be 300 available spots in the Seasoned tier. Nevermind positional requirements which if you split evenly, which also doesn't happen, comes out to 18 spots a position.

18 roster spots per position for the entire tier while we ignore every single marketplace player, ignore every single package or multiple player thread, ignore the fact that in a significant chunk of cases adding a player is displacing someone who needs to be placed elsewhere, and to be as unrealistically generous as possible with team needs...

I don't know why I am thinking about this at 1 in the morning on a Saturday (my life) when it doesn't even affect me. Just seems like we really need greater incentives or means for people to keep their teams chugging through the tiers or at least inject some life into the midlevels with new teams at later ages

this is probably much longer and more rantlike than I intended

And what makes you think for a moment that I need a tiny little person like you to defend me?

I know most of the people here haven't been worshiping me anywhere near as long as you have, but you'd think that my sig line is a your mom joke would have been a giveaway...

This is true of any MMO, tbh. I often quit games I start an interest in just because I read the n00b/FAQforums and find a lot of cliquey bs that has drifted wildly off topic, but I guess most threads do that.

Being in early with a game like I have here (not right from the start, but midway season 2) makes such a difference. You know where to sift, who to ignore and who to listen to. You know the saints from the sinners.

Anyway, I like it that you're steeling yourself to 'pull it off' OSIRIS.

I wasn't defending you, just the principle that some things are out of bounds. You'd think a smart guy like you would know that.

@ Laggo, that is actually a really good post that the devs should listen to. There should be some way to create a team, maybe for extra flex, at a higher tier than just rookie.

Second part speaks volumes to an actual FAQ and help button for new comers. I've said it a few times so not going to ask again but since its germaine to the conversation - consider my interest in a "how-to" tutorial for newcomers very high.

I've tried making a team ownership how to - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum/thread/5167449

It doesn't get much attention, though.
