but your pretty out of touch with what a S* QB can get, those passing caps are pretty hard to reach alone

Obviously considering the post I made of the attribute highs I got when trying it even without slow built. Was about half of what he was looking to do.

i know just wanted to note that you can barely get the sp for the passing related caps alone with out running skills on a S*

Unless you are looking to use superstar and early bloomer it's pretty easy. You can just give yourself unlimited cap boosts.

yea but this doesn't take into account the difference in skill cost

Slowbuilt is only useful if you specifically cannot get a cap you want (and you better REALLY want it) by manipulating attributes.

5% don't seem like much, but its the difference in some secondary skill having no investment or 50+ investment.

slow built is basically the 100% specialise in one aspect, like a d-lineman who says screw pass rushing and only wants to spend point in run blocking, using slow built takes away some generel skills for specialise skill, wile early bloomer goes the other way

And manipulating attributes is damn easy. If you want to have one or two skills with caps in the 95-100 range, and you can't do it without Slowbuilt, you're doing it wrong. If you're content having many things cap out at 80, that's fine on balanced/semi balanced builds...but if you're going hard for one specific job, attributes can usually take you where you need to go.

Will such a strategy be detrimental to the player long term?

Not as detrimental as slow built in my opinion.

nobody knows. None of us have built a player to endgame post test server.

Really all depends on your sa use and how you are building around them. Using early bloomer to max out power run/tech/balance early on but having them being at 70's rather than near 100 will only be interesting until everyone else catches up. Essentially you want your caps built around your sa choices for the most part.

There are certainly viable winning ways beyond just having great players but not having great players makes not having a sound strategy behind those players a difficult winning venture.

Career and AP boosts do nothing to effect what slow built does.

Slow built gives you beautiful caps for your skills, but makes it much harder to reach them. Career boosts let you play longer, AP boosts let you add more to your Special Abilities.

gives you more time to hit the caps doesn't it?
