The curse is lifted!

'Course, I didn't stop Randall Cobb who had 271 yds and 2 TD's, but I did stop anyone else on their offense from getting to the endzone

I wonder if giving up 450 yards passing to Salty will convince TDiddy he's in the same boat as the rest of us when it comes to the near inability of any defense to stop the pass...

I'm guessing not much Carrying Awareness since that seems to be what causes my runners on Yorick to do boneheaded things in the open field.

Probably should make him think a lot harder about it since Salty isn't even built for that.

Honest question, I don't watch many games outside of Journeyman, but does everyone just blitz constantly at lower levels to try and stop the pass?

mostly yeah. Seen more cover 2 and man base mixed into defenses against us than in sophomore though. Some cover 1 robber stuff too.

I don't do it to stop the pass. Sacks are great, but rare. I do it to force the passes to be shorter because otherwise, I spend an entire game watching my DB's get caught in the turn.

Even with blitzing, I spend 30-40% of the game watching my DB's get caught in the turn...

Oh, and it happens just as much at journeyman in coverage, just most of the DC's don't pay attention. I'd much rather have Barry Allen catch a 8 yard pass while he's still running his route than a 20 yard pass when he's hit speed.

They weren't exactly calling a very good anti-MO playbook either. Lots of sackbait passes being used.

watch the game

it was a combination of horrible gameplan made by me (got away from things we do well), as well as, them accurately predicting a few things I was trying... my S* WR also caught 3 of 16 targets. I don't see that happening again. We played them after the pass sim changes and shut them down pretty well

adjustments will be made

I really do wish you the best of luck.

After all, if you come up with something, I will steal it

The problem is that 30-40% time your seeing your DBs get beat while blitzing you give up a long TD. SF/OG GLB stopped me from blitzing early season 2 when I couldn't get to the QB anymore. I give up a ton of yards playing Heavy Man coverage but more often than not I end up with quite a few FG attempts or punts instead of that TD.

just got to strike a good balance with the blitz and hope the sim calls it the % you actually want it's hard to find that balance sometimes and you see way too many blitzes called or not enough at times it seems.

Oh, I'm aware I'm playing much higher risk football, and I prolly do give up a few more big plays than I would otherwise. But in the big scheme of an entire game, I'm okay with one or two big plays if over the course of the game, I end up giving up fewer points, especially when the teams I'm DC for usually have ball control offenses that will wreck a defense that doesn't get much chance to rest.
