Most of you rely on "well-built safeties", as some of you said.

What makes a good safety?

They have to have speed not to get beat, great Cover Tech, and both Man & Zone Awareness. IMO you don't have the luxury of really pumping anything high(90+) to round out the build.

Don't forget that they also tend to have the best lines to the backs on outside runs, so they need to have good run support skills as well.

I'm surprised we aren't seeing lots of people building superstar safeties given just how many skills they need to be really good.

Pretty good idea.

S* safetys seem very underused to me. They are a pretty cheap salary position relative to how big of an impact they make on the game in my opinion. I was trying to find a S* FS to pair with my S* SS but had no luck.

It seems like if you want to pump any "luxury" skills for a position like safety then you pretty much need a S* or else the player will be very deficient in a major area. By luxury skills I mean things like really high power tackling or intercepting.

Think I would rather S* Corners paired with S* SS's than a S* FS.

Dream S* line up for me is 3 corners, 1 SS, and 2 Blitz OLB's.

A corner costs a lot more salary wise to turn into a S*.

With no salary considerations I would obviously prefer a S* CB too but they are munch pricier than a FS.

im less worried about the Salary restrictions than I am about getting 2 people who want to make S* Corners and one person who wants to make a S* LB. I will make the salaries work just fine.

Yea GL finding people that want to use their tier3 S* point on a LB instead of a QB/HB. I would bet you know a lot more people in the community than I do so might have better luck, but I was looking for an additional S* LB as well for a while and found no interest whatsoever. I think multiple S* LBs would be insane (not like there is much debate about that).

LB is a pretty tough sell compared to a QB or HB.

Yeah, I'm probably one of the few who plans to use his 150 S* on a LB.

Safeties have way more impact on defenses than CBs do. Way more likely to be in on the play. If I got the choice between a S* safety and a S* CB, I'm fairly certain I'd take the safety.

We already have a team with 2. But I have one coming up this next season and a guy who will make a SS. Just need the corners and one other LB. I am pretty much a DC's wet dream for what I will work with offensively to make a DC disney land.
