Right now it's anything that forces a DB to turn from backpedaling as the WR's just blows past them while it happens.

I have faith in the power of processed meat sticks battered and fried tho.

Ya - useless to scrim at this point - that backpedal / stop / turn / run is ridonkulous.

Besides getting burnt on a few plays, my DBs are playing pretty damn good. I got a lot of INTs last season, but seem to be getting them at a faster rate now. Anytime I've been playing Cover 2 I've cut down those long passes a lot.

Anyone else noticing a lot more knocked loose plays?

Fantastic, 42 is recruiting 70 speed WRs too

passing is def not OP with the new changes... I played a similarly ranked team, had 17 pass deflections and 3 INTs... held them to sub 40 completion percentage

pass defense is crazy now

Now try it against a pass-first team that doesn't just run short patterns.

It's not terrible. There are some hiccups with deep single coverage obviously where the CB is confused about turning but other than that the short routes have become much harder to complete.

You essentially can't play full coverage and not use cover 2 or 3. You may as well ask for a TD dropped on your head.

Which combines an interesting element of do I play coverage or do I feel the slow burn of the inside handoffs over and over?

they passed it 67 times, and a lot of it wasn't short passes... they don't seem to run short comeback pass plays any more than anyone else

defense had 17 PDs, 3 INTs, and 37% completion

and Berkley isn't exactly a pushover at #20 soph... and the QB had 62 TDs and 3 INTs all of last season with a 90 QBR

I don't think passing is OP at all. Do guys get burned every once in a while? Sure, but they NEVER did in the past, so I'm ok with it.

INTs are a welcome sight. I think my team had 3 all of last season, and we just had 3 in a scrimmage... AWESOME

Okay, I was bored, have nothing specific that needs done tomorrow, no project deadlines, nada. So I was going to watch that game. I didn't even have to get out of your first drive to make my point.

Let's start with the obvious. Berkley's QB is a career 50% passer. That's not really going to inspire fear in many defenses. I wish I could see the box score, but I'll go with the 40% you listed as that wouldn't surprise me even before the changes.

The first play that jumped out at me was actually your QB:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/56436/3713687

Did you notice the complete fail that was CB2 trying to turn with your WR? There's a good chance if your WR catches that, he's gone.

And the very next play:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/56436/3713699

Are you seeing the problem yet? Every time a CB has to break out of backpedaling, they're toast. If you had a Barry Allen type WR, that's it. Game over, man. Game over.

For my final bit of evidence (even though I'm sure I could collect 40-50 more), I present this play:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/56436/3713766

Hey! On an Island fired. Yay bug fix! Boo broken coverage! Seriously, if you had faster WR's this would be yet another TD.

p.s. Lost Lounge now has a S* QB throwing to a S* WR. I'm actually working against my team's interests by pushing to get this fixed asap because while it'd be lulz to watch our O throw 50+ yard TD's every time we get the ball, it would get pretty boring pretty fast.

Berkeley had an offense in to test D formations a few days ago...

Stop trying to fix it Xav. My pass first team with 2 speedster WRs want it to stay...........

We're open for scrimmages too..

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/team/206

To test things out we're running a balanced offense and a Cover 2 defense (nothing extreme or fancy).
