I want to start a petition to take Adolf Hitlers name out of the history books due to nyone being offended. Let's forget the fact that he was a very evil man and that he might have been one of the greatest motivaters in history of the world. The truth is someone is offended so he most go. All this coming from a man who grandmother was sent out of austria just days before nazi germany invaded cause her family and the forsight to see his wrong doings. Oh BTW need i bring up the fact besides her and her sister who where sent to england are the only ones to surive the invasion, the rest of my grandmother parents and family was never heard from again!

Just for the record I want to go on record saying that I am not offended by his names. I am only offended if someone agrees with his action!

i dont know about nelsons names but adolf hitler does offend me cause the man sigle handedly killed a large part of my mothers side family at his camps and his war against USSR and a large part of my fathers side family died in WWII.
if david rockefeller offned you please report that man but rocefeller didnt killed jews or any other people.
same way with osama bin laden.
let me just say that i didnt report nelson. but if i'ed saw a adolf hitler player on a team it would really suck all the fun out of the game for me.

Like it or not, nelson should be free to offend you. That should b his right and whether you're offended or not should be a moot point. I would really hope you could appreciate that most of all then.

what is the reason to remind him except for history lessons.

sure you can say bcause nelson or whoever like this name cause of the name and it has no conection with his actions, but why be so ignorant and use this name when you know it can offend people only to prove a point

Why be so ignorant as to assume that there is only one reason for someone to use on of those names. It is his right to use those names if he wants, and it is your right to be bother by them. But the people that are bothered by them shouldnt for some reason have more say and make the other guy change his names just because it will make them feel better. I would tell those people to suck it up. Especially the mod who is making him change his names because one person complained. Can you say power trip?

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The man was a monster and I doubt nelson "likes" him - but he is a notable historical figure worth including in the context of the rest of that roster of misfits. Heck, I am an American yet I have as one of my players the architect of the attack on Pearl Harbor - does this make you think I have any affection for Isoroku Yamamoto? It is worthwhile to remember him because we educated him deeply in our way of thinking but failed to win his heart... then when he returned to his country (which by then had resolved privately to become our enemy) he made us pay dearly for that failure.

Sometimes it is worthwhile to remember how things were allowed to go wrong so that you are mindful when similar circumstances present themselves. I don't think nelson intends to offend anyone with those player names but surely has his own reasons for choosing the names he does. Why be so eager to assume that others have malicious intentions? This quickness to take offense (not specifically you, but many people in today's society) causes many more problems than any amount of "political correctness" could solve imo.

This is a game. I'd recommend getting offended over things that actually matter.

we sure talked about subjects other than nelson intended to.
but let me say one thing isorokru yamamoto maybe sent your grand prents to fight for the right to live safe and secure in their homes, mine grand perants were pulled out of their homes without any chance to fight or any country to defend them and they were slaughtered only because they were jews. this is the sole reason why the combo of first name and last name adolf hitler deters me.
on the other hand general Rommel general Rundstedt, were historic figures too but they were only soldiers their job were to lead troops but they had nothing to do with the final solution hitler did.


Malachorn let me ask you does david rockafeller makes you think about the grand parents you never knew because of him?

MisterPinstripe i am not telling anyone what to do and when or how, but the man could be logic and think what other people fell and not do so only because it is his right and he can do what ever he wants till it is in the limits of rights and laws.
let me remind you that 60 years ago nazi german thought had the right to kill jews, was it the right thing to do?

for conclusion i dont have anything against nelson we both like american football which is cool, and this thread were sure overgrown

I just want to say, that I am not offended by the name. My family came over from Prussia just before it was no longer a country. My family had at one point felt the pain brought on by Hitler. As well, my grandfather fought for the US Army during WW2 and was forced to fight in Germany against basically his own family.

Once again, the name Hitler does not offend me.

I'm more offended that Nelson claimed he was a communist.

I just want to say that I am offended by all of you for being both offended and not offended by the offense committed by the offender upon the offended. Now I bring upon you a new word to compound what we have all found offensive. I bring to you, atrocity, for I find this offense an atrocious atrocity upon that which has no defense but to offend.

Just to go on record for leon. He is on our team and a great guy. Even though I don't agree with him getting worked up over the name I do understand how it may be offensive to him. Leon is a soldier in the israeli army. I really think sometimes before we through the word kid around we should stop and think. I know I have be guilty of it and try to refrain from doing it. So while many of us don't find the offense in the name Adolf Hitler that is not to say other won't. Espiecially a name that created so much Genocide aginst men and women of the jewish faith.

Once again I don't believe in censorship, and find little in the way of offensive. I think the named should be allowed based on freedom of expression, I just don't want to start blasting people openly on the forums based on there beliefs. Someone once told be you don't have to agree or disagree with someone beliefs you just have to respect them cause they are that persons right to have!

very true i just dont understand why one complaint changed everything i have given this game so much money and then 3 and a half season later im forced to change? even then i didnt get to choose my names i got the man with the plan and catch this guy
