Not 'WAY' back. The paths they were taking was going to intersect anyways.

Besides, HB had 1 in conditioning when the pursuit begun, while DT never ran out of gas till the end of the play.

Well mix a slow HB with a DT that takes a great angle and that's what should happen 10/10 times...

Here's a play that highlights what I'm talking about with pursuit cuz Roger Roger is my guy with the silly high pursuit for a rookie.

Heavy Duty is flat out faster. Heavy Duty is at full stamina at the start of the play.

Roger is on the freakin' opposite side of the field, and initially doesn't take an angle.

But if you watch, Roger goes from his normal speed to race car speed as soon as he triggers his pursuit.

actually that HB is slower, but thats still a good example of pursuit,

I've never looked at it in that light before, and it makes a lot of sense now.

It's still wrong... but makes sense. OP angles i guess...

I'm DC for both team, and can see both guys stats. Heavy Duty really is faster.

When I first started building Roger, he was going to be this speed freak sprinter. That changed really fast when I saw how cheap pursuit was for him to build, and how much more effective it was to go with pursuit rather than sprint.

I'm really interested in seeing what the changes cornfrogger has planned for defense do to that, especially if o-line blocking ever gets smarter.

Pursuit kicks in at least 3 times on that. Every time the HB made a turn further upfield (as opposed to lateral), Roger adjusted his pursuit angle steeper. If you watch, he's an intercept vector til the HB adjusts, then finds the new intercept, then adjusts a 2nd time.

The 40 yard dash time of the HB is faster, but not massively faster. 5.73 vs. 5.66 is not a big difference.

And the HBs energy was at 1 before he even turned the corner.
