I'd address your concerns, but I'm honestly not even sure what your concerns are.
Is it that teams run the plays with the best chance of success? That will be true in every competitive game ever. I mean, I'm working on code to address things like All Dogs Go, but I'm not daft enough to think that once that's not as effective that something else won't pop up to be the cream of the crop. It's just how it works, it works that way in Madden, it works that way in World of Warcraft, and it works that way in pretty much every other game I've played with any kind of competitive nature...people flock to whatever is slightly better than other options.
Is it that momentum plays too much of a role? I think you're vastly underestimating the strength of Heart. Heart increases morale gain as well as decreasing morale loss, having a double effect on momentum swings. Of course there's going to be randomness, it becomes even more boring when it boils down to a predictable mathematical formula for who wins any given game. It's kind of the same way in actual football, and is why they play the games rather than just looking at numbers and deciding the winner.
I appreciate your response, and you obviously knew what my concerns were because you addressed them.
Again, I admittedly said that my observations of the "death spirals" were limited, but I did also note that Morale was still strong when teams were spiraling downward. Maybe I am missing something and momentum can shift heavily without it reflecting on Morale? If so that would explain it. If not, then I am wondering how a teams performance can take a major dive against an equally built team without showing a major dive in Morale.
So if a team starts taking a beating, yet Morale is still high, is Heart a factor, yet not showing through Morale levels?
And again, for the fourth time, not my major issue - i can deal with spirals or one sided contests even in evenly matched games. It happens. What I still have a problem with, even after your response is the "cookie cutter" issues. Yes, other games have that issue, Madden for sure, that's why I haven't played that game online for years. But a MMORPG like WoW? Sure there are cutter builds, and cutter ways to play it, but there are still many types and ways of going in that "cutter" direction. Here, as in GLB 1, the cutter options are very minimal, which makes it redundant quickly.
Now again, I am not going to quit over it, as I know you all work hard at it, and are making improvements, but my concern stands - That if it comes down to a few ways of winning, without a lot of different options and molds to go with, I don't think I will last long. As I said earlier, I am more interested in options, rather than winning. I would rather have a shit ton of parody with a shit ton of options, rather than a limited number of teams who dominate because they knew the "flavor of the month" and had the right builds to fit it, whereas those who built differently (even if smart) are on the outside looking in.
And not frustrated about my personal team here, as I have success right now, and can compete with anyone in the game. I just hope this trend doesn't continue on and on.
Also, forgot to add this - another reason why I left GLB1, the snarky response you get from some Mods when you have a well thought out complaint. Mods should always be pleasant, it increases customer satisfaction.
