Great thread. Now lets get back on topic.

Power, tech and aware are all important. Power and tech are slighty more important than awareness imho. Balance, footwork, quickness, and toughness are also important.

It also depends on what type of blocker you want.

I guess it depends on what type you are building. A pulling guard or lead blocker, then awareness would be slightly more important. A straight ahead road grader then power would be more important. A pass protecting tackle, tech would be more important. But they ALL hold some importance.

In the current metagame where you're trying to stop outside blitzing linebackers (which have basically no investment in power rushing or break block and all investment in sprinting and quickness type stuff), the most important skills for guards and OTs are footwork and pass blocking awareness. Take them to 50. Probably should consider some sprinting and quickness to 25+ too. Then you may dabble in other things perhaps

Yeah...it just depends on how your offense is run and which position on the O-Line you are making. The OP needs to be more specific on which type of O-Lineman and what his offense runs.

This thread is really bad, and I don't even know where to start.

First... yes, when you build don't think GLb, as in don't think ALG's. However you still want to focus on being the best at a few things while you level. If your dot is too balanced you won't excel at anything. You need to figure out which attributes will offer the most bang for your buck towards your end build goals and towards immediate winning. If you round out too much your dot will be worthless and interchangeable.

As far as O-line is concerned.

Awareness isn't that important. No matter what type you build, Balance, Power, and Technique should all be higher than awareness. That being said, awareness isn't just knowing who you should block, it's also adjusting to what your teamates do. If the RB decide to take a cutback lane how quickly does your G or whatever realize that and shift his blocking to account for that? Or does he push the DT directly in the RB's path?
Technique will not only control how well you engage the block but also how far away you can successfully engage from, and it appears as if technique plays a role in the quality of your blocks as well. You won't ever get the chance to push someone back or pancake them unless your technique is good enough.
Power is just how far back you can push a blocker when you are winning the hold block roll, I also have a feeling its how much you can resist being pushed back when losing the hold block roll. It's also involved in pancakes if your technique roll is good enough.
Footwork and quickness are crucial in containing speedy edge rushers. You have to be able to get out there fast enough to at the very least be a speed bump in front of them.
Balance is really important in the case that you are losing a blocking technique roll, not just in keeping your balance, but also in regaining it quicker when you are knocked off balance.

Etc. etc. etc.
Here's my pass blocking OT.

Rookie O-linemen don't have much choice if the team wants to pass the ball. You've got to go awareness and footwork first. If you don't, your QB is just DAG/ZEB fodder. How well you hold a block or push a block doesn't matter if you can't get a warm body on the blitzer to begin with. OTs need it, and Guards especially need it, since their reads and ability to backpedal to the blitzers are KEY. Center isn't that big of a deal, they can go more tech/power early.

It's different in sophomore when you've got the skill points already in place, and the QBs have more awareness of their own to help themselves with.
