correcting ppl, ok. we just have different opinions of how that should look like, though.
I honestly don't think we do. I just think worse question deserve harsher replies. If it is a good question or obtuse topic a statement is made about then the answer or correction should be cordial, standard, regular, whatever. If someone is asking a dumbass question where the answer is in the tooltip, on the first two pages of the forums, or easily ascertainable by watching a damn game then how do you think they don't deserve a negative reply for being so selfish to use other people's time in reading a lazy question and giving them a quick answer that took them time and effort to learn themselves?
See where my point of view is? I don't like people being taken advantage of, unfairly picked on for nothing, used, disrespected if they don't deserve it, etc. I'm willing to stand up for it and say shit other people think but won't say.
If I say something harsh, it's not because I don't like you, it's because I don't like what you said/did. That's how people are still able to call out their friend on stuff.
I do stupid crap sometimes, I admit when I do it and I or someone else notices it. If they are pointing it out and calling me whatever they think I am at the moment then I probably deserved it. I'll learn from it, improve in the future, and move on. It's as temporary as the time it took to type the response, I'm not stupid forever or as a person, and when I use derogatory terms in posts that is how I mean them. A smart person can ask a dumb question and get called stupid and still go on and carry on an intelligent discussion.
