Please, for the decency of others reading here, stop professing your stupidity. I'm not afraid to admit I was a SoCal DII recruited athlete in multiple sports after missing my entire junior year after tearing all the ligaments in my left ankle. I turned down those university scholarships at first because I was young and wanted to stay close to home. I was young. But I bet I can still run a 4.4 40, get a 36"+ vert, and play safety better than anyone on this forum. The only experience you have with a bench is looking at one. DOes this even deserve a response... I'm newer here so I'm probably wasting my time attempting to talk sense into this guy huh?

I never got a legit chance at safety due to my height but I played a mean corner. Mostly used for return duty in college though because, and I will be realistic here, my school moved up to a division of talent that I probably couldn't hold my own as well as some of the athletes above me. I really would have loved to try more safety though.

Oh i loved corner so much, safety seemed like too much responsibility on every down... besides I also didn't develop much physicality until maybe my senior year, so that was a no go. Free was cool, but I liked a closer connection to the WR.

I was always best at reading the play, the receivers' routes, and the QB. They only put me at CB sometimes because I knew how to position myself against a good receiver and slow down a fast receiver. I'm 6'3" so I don't see what anyone has against anyone's size. People say tall people are the slowest out of the blocks, bust I was always way ahead in the 100m an 110m hurdles.

I played in the trenches as Offensive/Defensive Tackle in Middle School. Found out I had dry discs in my lower back and doctors wouldn't sign me off for physical so football ended before it began for me.

Well I am 5'9" so I could kinda see the height thing. That being said when I did get my chance at safety I shined the best. In 3 games at safety my senior season I had 4 interceptions and 6 sacks. But when our starter came back from injury (he was 6'4"), he was immediately moved back in to safety and I was put back at corner. I mean it wasn't totally a wrong move by the coaches as I was without a doubt our best cover corner, but I excelled greatly at safety when given the chance and had undoubtedly a lot more fun. Returner was always my specialty though. My speed and lane vision has always been something I take good pride in.

I would bet all of my money that tall individuals with the Usain Bolt/Christophe Lemaitre type builds 6'3+ will become the face of sprinting in the next few years... Usain Bolt sorta proved this to us that taller sprinters (When they meet certain physical conditions) are better than the shorter tyson gay type builds...

I can also bet the same thing for CBs in the NFL, the Richard Sherman/Antonio Cromartie type builds will soon dominate the scene. Receivers are getting bigger and slower, and the benefits from a 6'2+ CB that can run a 4.5 or faster far outweight any of the benefits these 4.2 high and 4.3 shorties can bring.

corner is a lot tougher than safety imo. played safety for 10 seasons, may play again in september with a bit of luck. safety is easily one of the easiest positions if you are able to be aware of everything in front of you. you dont have to be the strongest, fastest, tallest or toughest. you just have to be one of the smartest on the field. safety is hands down the most fun ive ever had in any sport. strong safety, free safety and defensive hb are awesome to play under the right coaches.

corner is the toughest position imo. one little mistake and that WR is gone. i'll also never understand why anyone plays offense unless youre the HB.

Corner is tough. My first full blown experience against division 1 high school talent passing was NOT pretty. I was certainly not even remotely prepared for it and neither was our defensive strategy that allowed me to have no help over the top and be responsible for both a top of the line wr talent and a qb rollout. Needless to say I got lit up and questioned my skills for a little bit after that.

How he is bigger and faster confuses the hell out of me. Antonio Brown, sure. Wes Welker, shut up.

Getting to hit someone every play was fun.

Getting to blindside LB's on counters was the best.

Defensive backs always sounded awful to me...spending all of your time running around the field chasing after people just to get a chance to hit them. Bleh.
