For anyone wanting to try to calculate this for themselves, here's how I do it.

First, it's impossible for a 9-loss team to make the playoffs, so 9 losses gets an automatic X. It also helps if you hold off on doing the calculations until several games have been played.

Basically, you need to pay attention to 2 teams: first place and 9th place. It doesn't matter who is there, all that matters is the respective records. Calculate how many more wins the first-place team will need to make it so the 9th-place team can't catch them, and you have the first-place team's magic number. So when I did the initial calculations, the 10-win Hitmen needed 12 total wins to clinch a playoff berth, giving them a magic number of 2. (If the 9th-place team won out, they'd have won 11 games.)

After the next game, the 9th-place team had lost a game while the Hitmen had won. This gave the Hitmen the clinch, because the 9th-place team was no longer capable of winning more than 10 games, and the Hitmen had 11.

Once you've established that threshold, every other team's magic number depends on the most number of wins 9th place can possibly get. A win lowers your magic number, and a loss by 9th place lowers your magic number.

those don't count tie breakers right?

Those assume tie breakers aren't necessary. It's possible to get a playoff berth without reaching 0. Reaching 0 simply means there's no way you're not in the playoffs.

Well we are looking to finish off the 3rd level sections to complete our stadium. Already have the rest of the 2nd level to be built in the offseason.

Didn't Bort announce that the away team also get 1/2 of the amount the home team make that game?

I better invest in some bullet proof vest and AKs then.

Let's not forget that the bottom 2 teams in each conference are relegated to BBB. Right now, any team with 3 or fewer wins is in jeopardy.

Also, the top 4 teams in each conference clinch a first-round home game, top 2 clinch second-round home games, and the 1st place team gets home field throughout.

No team has clinched any home field advantage yet, though that's likely to change after the next game.

LA Sharks are still in it - despite losing by 24 to Dallas yesterday and getting our running game shut down, we scored 13 on their defense, and put up some good passing numbers as well. All in all, we managed to not get embarassed by the Orangebloods, so I think this speaks well to our chances to beat Oakland tomorrow and have a real shot at getting into the playoffs at 9-7. Not sure how the tiebreakers (if needed) will shake out, but it certainly would be an accomplishment to finally make the post-season for the first time.

My understanding is that the tiebreaker goes head-to-head --> total points scored --> point differential --> coin flip.

I haven't worked out all the tiebreaker scenarios yet. I'll do that after Game 15.
