GG, just watched.

Air attack is a much more fun way to play this game. Both squads had WRs just running all over the damn place.

Adding defensive formations is fine - they are an option you can choose to use or not

You could say the same thing for o formations. But the realistic thing is that the offensive plays/formations have become boring and the defense isn't fully equipped enough to deal with every formation adequately. Thus defense is being currently looked at for better formations. I do agree that the defense tags have gotten to be a little much. But if the game can't progress because of that it just isn't worth the effort any more. There has to be better answers to the complexity without not progressing.

the difference is - adding a new offensive formations, means every DAI now has to have a whole new set of inputs, and every gameplan has to look at one more formation = result will be less gameplanning.

I think the way to go is fewer offensive formations, with more plays

Make scouting mean something by limiting the number of plays a team can select for their playbook each season. 100 would be broad enough for plenty of variation.
