I agree somewhat, but that formula would not take into account an amount of tackles ammassed form a CB with solid run support ability. Yes im being a homer but I surely am not the only CB with ALOT of tackles from helping the run or making a tackle on another players assignment.

Like I said, looking at stats alone is not an accurate way to diagnose a solid CB. Mine jsut had a game with 9 tackles, 6 of which are run support and 1 was a tackle on another players assignment, stats dont tell the whole story no matter how you look at them.

Example:

62 tackles, 6 INTs, 33 PDs....Atleast 60% of my tackles are in run support.

60% tackles on run support? Yikes. That is an abberation and a definite flaw in my proposed formula, for those rare CBs that do most of their tackling in run support. I figured that mostly would happen on teams with lousy run defense, but apparently it is intentional with your very good team (especially since the AI doesn't process outside runs correctly).

Yea im sure there arent tons of CBs with great run support but mine seems to have a knack for it for some odd reason. Its definately something to be careful of when judging a CB, so like I said, unless you watch the film its rela tough to get a good grip on em. 60% might even be a bit low, almost every game I look at ym stats and think I got crushed only to watch film and see most of it is run support. Its tough for CBs for sure the stats are misleading,

My CB does most of his tackles on run support as well. He's sitting at 77 tackles, 46 PD, 3 INT. In this last game alone, 9 tackles. Only two passes caught on him. 6 of his tackles were tackling the HB on a pitch play. We did give up 137 yards on the ground this game though.

I'm not sure what % of CB have most of their tackles on run plays, but I would guess at least a third of them. If the DE doesn't stop a pitch play, a good CB should.

Yea mine had 9 tackles today too and so far thru the 2nd quater, 4 are run support, 1 is someone elses assignment.

edit: 9 tackles....8 of em stopping the run....1 of em was someone elses assignment.

love it but it still scares me every time i see a high tackle amount although I should know better.

Aww thats not riiiight lol Maybe true but not right.

No this is no 'pimp your CB' thread, I dont have to pimp mine at all I think its pretty evident that he is one of the best in the league. If you pay attention the discussion began because we discussed how difficult it was to rate CBs based on stats.

And no Wrath, you are not doing it right Not even close.

Look guys, I just want a pro-bowl safety. I don't want any CB arguments or talking of any sort.

I dont think anyone is voting anyone into this. We surely haven't recieved/heard anything about it in SanDiego.

Paco Rodriguez would like to point out that he is the 2nd highest level CB in the East at level 22 behind only level 23 AllDay McRae of the Langley Raptors. His 25 tackles, 2 INTs, 20 PDs, and 2 forced fumbles don't really tell much of the story. The main point in his defense is that he only gets maybe 1-2 passes thrown his way per game and almost none of them have been receptions.

Since there are no good stats for voting for corners, being the 2nd highest leveled CB in the conference probably counts for something. He's also the highest level member of a secondary that ranks 3rd in the East in fewest yards allowed passing and 2nd fewest passing TDs as well as a defense that ranks 4th in points per game allowed.

TE= Uriah Pruitt

66 Rec.
11.7 Yds/Rec.
770.5 Yds.
55 Yds/G.
5 TD.

I may be biased, but IMO he is the best TE in the league!! Check out where he ranks amongst WR in our league stats.
