We gameplanned like hell for this game.

I refuse to believe that you have ever spent as much time game planning for that game as we did.

We mapped out every single defensive play they have run all season-duplicated them and ran a test scrim against it... I had reports of every time every defense had been run in every situation contained in our offensive AI.

Yah-but preparation probably did nothing for us-it wasn't like it was a really close game that was likely decided not by the exploit plays we took turns running at each other-but by the little scouted plays for each situation that stopped us from turning it over on downs.

Oh-wait, it was...

For the record, I do not think Screens, Dump Passes, Pump Fake, etc... are exploits. It's just the current state of the sim. While I find it boring to watch, it just doesn't make sense to use plays you know will not work in order to avoid "exploits". The fact of the matter is, there are about 10 to 15 plays that are viable on a regular basis and the rest are pretty much worthless. I scouted teams all season to see what would work against them, and it always came down to about 4 ProSet plays, a handful of screens and the old faithful Flanker Drag, I Medium Cross, etc...

While I do think it's cheesy to run the same 2 or 3 plays over and over again, I'd be willing to bet most teams spammed the same 10 or so plays 80% of the time throughout the season. Maybe it is just me, but I generally ran most of the same plays all season, and my scouting just determined what the read progression was going to be.

89stepside - TIA was never supposed to be no-no this season, only minor-minor. I boosted the ST players day 1 and didn't put on any CEQ until around mid season, and then only on about 25% of the team. That sound like a plan for a championship team?

When TIA finished the season with such a high seed, I decided to drop over $125 on flex to boost them, mainly because I would get a full refund on it and knew I would need it for S24. That allowed me to mostly boost TIA. However, only about 25% of the team ever got CEQ, including the whole playoff run.

Problem is people take only certain things that I say as written in stone and seem to forget others. I never once said TIA would only ever be a no-no team, only that it was unlikely that I could afford two boosted teams so they would likely be a no-no team. I also did say that I would do what I want with TIA at any time and would boost/ceq them if the opportunity presented itself, like it did this season. Notice how no one mentions me saying that?


Gunther - can you get any more ignorant? I game planned for this game way more than any other game this season. I basically overhauled the offense and made some decent changes to the defense. The defensive changes panned out very well, but the offensive ones didn't, but were effective enough to get me the W. And until you actually contribute to a championship team other than as a lol-GM, you can talk, but until then, quit riding the success of others as you did nothing to help MG those 3 seasons!

I firmly believe LW is NOT perma based on his scouting reports and help throughout this playoff run. I have had EDB/Perma/ETC on my teams before as coaches and LW is different in both how he helps and the way in which he posts.

And on the outside chance I am wrong, he has changed his attitude to one that I can live with, but I still don't think it is him.

believe it or not, i had a forum full of Permastoned scouting reports for both sides of the ball and insightful posts. He just rarely presented that side publicly

I am fairly certain that you stated that TIA would be No/No, but it is definitely implied in your comment in the preseason prediction thread where you stated that it would be difficult for TIA to compete against boosted teams. Regardless of that, my point is that you are constantly trying to justify your wishy-washy reasoning, and more often than not, end up contradicting yourself repeatedly. Again, I really don't care that you have 2 teams, but I do grow tired of you coming up with contradicting explanations of "why we shouldn't care". Just own up to the fact that you wanted 2 teams in Gold so you could have a better chance of winning it all finally. If I could afford 2 boosted teams (and had the talent to get a second team to Gold), I'd do it. I just wouldn't make any excuses. My response would be "Hey, F-you. If you don't like me having 2 Gold teams, beat me and get me demoted." That's all I'm trying to say.
