And just when you thought their chance had passed, Bort went and shaved his hairy ass.

Didn't know ESL was dropping down for S23. Any other season, I might root for them to win the title, but....

there really needs to be some concrete rules about this, or a damn committee. kind of lame that a couple of teams every season are just sitting around with their cocks in their hands wondering if they're going back to pro, or sticking around. makes a huge difference in how one approaches the offseason.

I most definitely agree that there need to be some clear rules. It can't be that difficult to set up. I would certainly had have no problems with them telling us that it is the 9th ranked team in the other conference that gets to stay. However, support has signaled that Alpine will get the spot. Still, until Bort makes a decision (probably day 42) we really can't be 100% sure. Its unfortunate since we have guys that want to stay, and new guys wanting to join the team, if we stay in the world league. Basically recruiting has been put on hold for the last week or so since we found out that MPHD wanted to move down and support said we were the next team after Mayan to stay. Its a pretty big difference when it comes to recruiting if you play in the WL or WEPL.

what's the rational for 9 zeta teams and 7 alpha teams staying? that makes no sense to me.

I think there are two reasons if they keep us up, 1) We have the better record, 2) There is a very good chance that we would have made the playoffs if it wasn't for a bug.

But as I said, if the rule was that the 9th team in the conference that had a team gut stayed I would of course be perfectly alright with that. As it is now a better record is as logical a reason to stay and based on what GLB has said to me, that is what they are going with.

If you're not playing the same opponents then comparing overall record is obviously flawed. Unfortunately there's just not a clear solution to this mess.
