Did they fix QB spike? In the past it was just a waste of a down and didn't save you any time at all.

didn't see anything in the changelog. I know when I looked at it way back when it basically took as long between plays to spike the ball as it did to run a new play, thus was worthless. I don't OC anymore to worry about it, but that was my experience with it. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Unless they fixed it this season, Spike ball does not work. We kept telling Catch and he finally saw the light, but have not seen where they have fixed it. If not, all spike ball does is waste a down and 2 more seconds. We used to use it a few seasons back late in half or game to try and make sure that FG was the last play of the half/game, but it only really worked 3 or 4 times.

Wow seriously? I haven't see a problem with it when my team used it, maybe its just something to do with the different AI setups some quirky bug. I know i have a problem with Defense AI packages not working correctly with my AI but others claim they work fine for them so /shrug.

you don't seem to understand. It's not that it doesn't work, it just doesn't save you any time. In real life, the value of spiking the ball is basically so you can go to the huddle, call a play, take your time on the snap count, etc. In GLB, none of those things matter. The play call comes in, you snap it right away. Spiking it is just a waste. It's not a quirky bug.

not so sure man every time i remember watching our qb spikes it would stop the clock like a timeout and then we could run a play or kick a FG, wish i could find an example of it somewhere but its buried somewhere in one of these PBP not sure what game.

Fact: Spike Ball does in fact stop the clock. I does take :02 and cost you a down.
The problem is that it the snapping the ball still takes the same amount of time whether you snap the ball and spike it as it does if you run a regular play. No time is saved whatsoever. All you get is a loss of down and a loss of two more seconds. Your guys don't hurry to the line to spike it or anything like that. We've been talking about this a long time and it was only recently that Catch finally saw where we were coming from after defending the play like you are.
